Iran's New Unmanned Bomber Drone 'Karrar' Unveiled

So how u suppose to remote control that thingy without SATCOM? Thats basically reusable V1. However since it lacks TERCOM and cant fly at low altitudes chances to return, or even bomb something are very low.

Lack of data link make it less vulnerable to advance signal jamming capabilities of US and Israel.

What i miss the most is a camera?

It is a cruise missile, improvised to do the job of delivering payload and return.
Recovery as we have been told is glide and parachute mechanism, falling probably on a net or in a pond.

if it was for me and a whole lot of warm blooded americans Iran would be nothing but rubbles right now....and a new democracy would bring stability to the region......:usflag:

Ya as you successfully brought in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A video capture showing the on-board front-mounted camera on the Karrar UAV. This confirms the Iranian statement concerning the camera installment on the Karar. What remains is further data as to what sensors are carried on board which the Iranian military has stated that the drone possess.

The fact that Iranian drones, lacking SATCOM, have to rely on radio control (usually from a mobile station), is a significant limiting factor. As such the Karar most probably relies on the same. Given that it's operational radius is most probably 600km at most (from the maximum 1,000 km stated range), this brings about some serious criticisms of it's actual effectiveness in a real scenario, especially against targets that are bolstered by air defenses.
Radio control limits its range to light of sight (360 km at altitude of 10 km). If you want to penetrate any serious air defence you need to fly at low altitudes. At altuitude 200 m LOS range is limited to only 50 km.

To say that it is a a re-usable V-1 is a significant understatement of it's abilities for it to be reusable it would have to mount much navigational instrumentation and control measures to actually become re-usable
There is no need in complex navigation instruments. It is not langing in airfield, it just paradrops itself over some area, so accuracy +- 1 km would be enough.

Why the rudeness?:undecided: we want democracy to the entire world, whats so bad about it?.....:usflag:
Yes we want democracy to the entire world but not the US version(Iraq-Afganistan-Iran's Shah-Arab Persian Gulf Kingdom's..... ):flame:

The only thing it isn't is a reconnaissance UAV. Iran has Ababil and Mohajer series drones for that. It is a bomber drone. I don't have the links right now but there are films that show it dropping a bomb.

Iran has also Mirsad series reconnaissance UAV,
that is said was used by Hizbollah in 2006 war against Isreal Regiam

Well, the Taliban just want to impose Sharia in their own country... whats so bad about it?

Please understand that freedom means allowing people to do as they wish within limits that they set for themselves. It does not mean imposing your idea of freedom and forcing people to mimic you. That is not freedom. It is slavery.

Neither Afghanistan nor Iraq are stable, and neither of the two are democratic. American interference in both countries has made the situation far worse than it was previously. I don't know whether it is even worthwhile engaging you in discourse because your responses in this thread, at least, have been quite simplistic... but anyhow, please understand that America lost in Iraq and has lost in Afghanistan. From Iraq, due in part to Obama's sound approach, they were at least able to engineer a somewhat low-key exit. It remains to be seen whether the same happens in Afghanistan.

Net-net, the only thing that people will discuss "in future" when they look at American involvement in both these unnecessary wars is how it spurred the decline of the American economy and robbed it of its status as the world's only superpower. Sad but true.
Societies cannot be forcibly changed or reformed. It is the will of common man that makes the difference.

We need to understand the difference between victory and reforms.

Militarily speaking, both Iraq and Afghanistan got dominated and humiliated during WOT.

American achieved all its key objectives in Iraq and safe-exit is only a matter of time. However, Iraqi nation will decide whether they want democracy or not.

Afghanistan's case is more complicated though. America wanted to destroy Al-Qaeda but Taliban got in between. Now both parties are involved in peace talks. It is good to see that Americans have realized that Taliban are part of that society. This will pave way for its exit from Afghanistan as well sooner than we expect. However, Al-Qaeda has been dealt with severly. OBL himself is on the run.

As far as economy is concerned, Americans have dealt with finanical recession before. Current one is second one for them. Recession is part of the economic cycle. It is unavoidable phenomenon. Since, we do not have a properly functioning economy, these concepts are hard for us to understand. We need to concentrate to strengthen our economy first. Because, if Americans run out of money, we won't be getting billions of dollars of aid and our economy would collapse within months, if not weeks.

The economic cycle:

Actually to be frank, There's nothing wrong in wanting something. But your method of bombing your way into other countries is not good. For example, I agree with US war on Afghanistan but there was simply no need to attack Iraq which was minding its own business. Iraq never had the capability to have WMD and possessed only B&C weapons which all non-nuclear decent-sized countries have or had.

This way will only bring more anger in other people against democracy. You have to start letting the world decide what way of ruling they want. Pursuing terrorists and hunting them down, yes the entire civilized world is with you but barging into non-related countries is not good.
