Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Iran's inclusion in CPEC and peace in Afghanistan will benefit every country of the region.

In a statement on Friday, he said this is a jolt for India, and the opposition is criticizing the Indian government.

The Minister said several Indian troops were killed and injured in a clash with China. He said there is a tension between India and Nepal, and India-Bangladesh relationship warmth has also reduced.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said India wanted to isolate Pakistan, but it itself has been isolated.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan provided India consular access to its spy Kulbhushan Jadhav yesterday, but the Indian diplomats avoided talking to him.

He said India's ill intentions have been exposed as it did not want access to its spy.

Why would iran join CPEC ? When they can have their own CIEC .
Iran does not need pakistan to access the Central asian countries right ?
And shouldn't china investing 400 bil $ in iran worry pakistan as CPEC may be sidelined because of that specially if Iran is able to provide a safer investment environment ?

Your geography is not very good I take. Check the maps. Iran->Pakistan->China, the easiest and shortest route to lay energy pipelines to Chinese market. Iranian oil/gas, transported over Pakistani territory into China. Simple.

Just because they could theoretically build another trade corridor and pipelines etc through Central Asia to China, doesn’t mean they will.

Pakistan is the ideal solution, already China has poured in tens of billions of dollars worth of spending on infrastructure. Refineries were already planned to be built in Gwadar. Now you could see an easy inclusion of Iran in trade corridor infrastructure for a small cost as the rest of the infrastructure is either already there, under construction or planned in Pakistan.

So that benifits china . Pakistan gains nothing by Iran joining CPEC . More over with the chinese looking to invest in iran , they can easily use the iran route/ports through turkmenistan . I think china already has railway till turkmenistan

From southern Iran to northern Iran then across multiple countries is longer

The Southern or atleast south western Iran linking into CPEC straight into China with no need for any other state or any russian influenced states is much more amenable

It's massive cross trade, infrastructure, oil/gas links

All the countries of the region from.central Asia to beyond are seeking to be connected to each other

Also whilst China may not care, many other countries are still very vary of sanctions on Iran

Plenty of business for everyone

There is something called land transit fee? You even have to pay the countries to use their air space for crying out loud. Plus this will bound Iran to ensure the security of Pakistan for its own sake and interests, so extra regional countries like India will not be able to use Iranian soil to spread terrorism in Pakistan. And if needed be, we can tap in to the energy pipelines for our own local consumption. As I said, just refer to the geography. There are three "stan" states in between Iran and China, with each having own interests and influences like American pressure or what not. Here we already got CPEC with Pakistan most closest strategic ally of China providing the transit to energy supplies from Iran.

Its really not a rocket science as you are trying to make it out to be. But hey you are Indian at the end of the day!

And also it will be like revival of RCD plus...many central Asian countries joining in here...

Exactly! And that I think is the key reason they are being invited.

Till now, Iranian establishment has been playing this game of allowing the Indians to use their territory against Pakistan because India was their key energy market. Enter China, with the world biggest energy market, using Pakistani territory for energy supplies, you have to be a number one idiot in Iranian establishment if you are still playing the silly games with India against Pakistan. Any energy export country, be it Iran or GCC, if you are not eyeing and competing for the most lucrative and biggest energy market of China, specially at the times when America do not need your oil and Europe is moving away from fossil fuel, you are simply a fool of highest degree.

What I am more interested in as to how this all will impact the petro dollar. That is the key. Are we soon going to see petro yuan?

INCORRECT analysis. It means that Balouchistan province shared by both Pakistan and Iran would receive immense development and prosperity, bringing further stability to the region. Also, China gains access to Iran via Pakistan as China does not share a border with Iran wheras Pakistan shares a border with both Iran and China.
