A photo analysis of the Qala’at Jabbur airstrip shows it is about 1200 meters (0.75 miles) long and 30 meters (100 ft) wide.
Although it is possible to use the entire length of the runway for takeoff, in both directions, there are some limitations for landing.
Landing from South to North- 1100 meters: UAVs and twin-engine light aircraft.
Landing from North to South- 800 meters: UAVs and light aircraft.

What could be the purpose of this facility apart from the obvious?

I believe that with such infrastructure, there may be a need to deliver more infrastructure or equipment to South Lebanon. Additionally, this facility provides a strong rationale for deploying advanced air defense systems in South Lebanon. This is necessary because Israel's air superiority over this region poses a problem that needs to be addressed in the long term. Moreover, by enhancing airspace surveillance in this area, it can significantly disrupt Israeli attacks in Syria. This is especially relevant given that the elevations in Lebanon provide good defense against radars from Syria, as Israelis often use the Mediterranean as a flight route and take cover behind these elevations.

This facility is so close to Israel that they could target it with artillery. I believe that this base could be optimal for reconnaissance, partial resupply, and other drone operations during peacetime. However, it likely would not be usable during wartime unless it is excellently defended against hostile air attacks, which would necessitate the importation of additional military and high-tech infrastructure into the country to accomplish this task.

Interesting position where it is build. Will there be "Hunter-UAVs" placed? Against the Israeli Bombers and also against the glide-bombs they send from the sea to damascus?

Our famous buddy (ilyushin-76) landed in Serbia yesterday, it contained fresh Iranian cola and some other stuff. 😁

Heres some amazing old footage...
I`d never actually seen the ground test footage of the firing of the rpg rounds before.
Curious, Turkey made the first UAVs back in those days too, a lot of countries even Greece seems to have worked on them but only Americans got to the Reaper. Now it seems that we've caught up, Turkey sells more UAVs than America. But why these mfuckers get there first each time, with the fifth gen fighter, with the combat drone etc. is really a curiosity.

Because of limitless investment, they can literally print money

Well they took the time and effort to build it, so I'm sure they have a good reason for building it, and it will be quite useful and active during peacetime (which is most of the time anyways)

Exactly. And that money is not shared with US ‘allies’ like Turkey. Only allies that have a true independent industrial base scrape along—Germany, France, etc—others are left scrambling for scraps. Until Turkey peels off from the West, these ‘curious’ things will continue.
