What's new

Iranian Space program

So this is all just speculation/inaccurate analysis:

On Jan. 9, the Iranian government passed a new law disbanding its main space agency, eliminating the agency’s budget line and dissolving four of its main sub-institutions … for cost-saving reasons, mostly. Other agencies absorbed many of the space program’s technology and staff.

At the time of announcement—first reported by Mehr News—we explainedthat Tehran would probably launch a few of the space agency’s remaining rockets, mostly for propaganda purposes.

Sure enough, on Feb. 1 an old Safir-class rocket boosted an ultra-light, low-altitude Fajr satellite into orbit.

The launch doesn’t mean the Iranian space program is un-cancelled. Not too long ago, Tehran aimed to send Iranian astronauts into space and place one-ton satellites in high orbits. Those grand ambitions have faded with the space agency’s disbanding.

Iran’s Space Program—Still Cancelled — War Is Boring — Medium
It's misunderstanding of the real news .
before Ahmadinejad Iran space program was controlled by ministry of Communication and Information technology but Ahmadinejad took it away from the ministry and controlled it under his direct observation in a new organization which called Iran Space research Agency .
what now happened is that Roohani ordered that agency disbanded and like before Ahmadinejad the Space related activities go back to ministry of Communication and Information technology.

In short the Center changed its name from "Iran Space research Agency" to "National Space Center" and it's control transfered from the President to the ministry of Communication and Information technology.

No official tracking or specialized satellite sites are saying Fajr is falling... All seems normal for a low altitude satellite like Fajr.
Fajr has passed away tonight. He wanted to live 1.5 years but died in less than 1 month. RIP.

Disappointing:(. Anyway, everyone in this business faces failures:agree:.

Better luck next time:enjoy:
Actually its typical for the Safir launcher. Its silly to do the same thing (launching Safir) and expect different results.

Good luck to Iran with Simorgh.

That is your wishfull thinking, it has nothing to do with reality.
You can be sure that officials tracking it all over the world would say something if things were abnormal.

Iranians managed to develop stealth satellite, it went into stealth mod, wishful thinking lol.
