Also as per Khanzadi that it is was precisely because capabilities of the Fateh turned out so good that they decided to scrap the 3000ton specification of the Besat and are now going for something even larger. Not further information was given except that the Besat will be something extraordinary and bring pride and glory to Iran.

Iran is spending its scarce naval resources on the right platforms....I recall once in an occasion I met a high ranking western Submariner who told me that Western navies are not afraid of surface ships or the air assets of the enemy... it is the submarines that they worry about the most....so here we go we are witnessing Iran's submarine fleet becoming more capable and the numbers will grow larger as the production tools and subsystems become more available.

I stumbled on this article on National Interest, which is supposed to be all about the Fateh sub. It's called "Iran's news Fateh Submarine Explained" https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/irans-new-fateh-class-submarine-explained-168893
Unfortunately the main picture in the article shows a Nahang submarine. Do these guys even do basic research before posting things ?

How many Fateh class submarines are under construction? I heard about 4. When will they unveil?

Iran navy is now one of the those branches that keep us excited with their development. It used to be missile, uavs and air defence and now we can add navy to that. The only issue right now is lack of funding to the navy which is causing slow production rate. Hopefully we will see more investment to increase the manufacturing rate for the navy.

They have not declared its new displacement but I feel it will be 6000ton+.

Even the more respected western source such as Janes International make highly amateurish errors in their facts and assumptions. Unfortunately this is a common theme with western defence "analysts". They're mostly people that have very superficial understanding and do not/ cannot do proper research. This is especially true when it comes to Iran and to a great of extent China as well.

National interest is more of a propaganda site, pay little attention to them.

this is not the final version ( test version ) , beds were added in final version of Fateh which now is operational with navy
