I`d like to see a pic with the solid mast integrated into the bridge, that would give the radar a bit more height.

I think it is Shiraz

Heres a good pic showing the rather striking differences in superstructure design between the older sahand and the latest damavand2,its good to see at last. Also good to see that the new ship has a ciws, hopefully there will be a bow mounted one as well.

A good shot showing the compact internal layout of the hanger before the roof was put on and the likely size of the helo it could accommodate inside. This is where I wish the iranian navy operated Kamov 27s

Just saw this while sweeping the Strait of Hormuz. Happened yesterday at 07:03 UTC by the rocks north of Oman; N26.50, E56.52. Appears to be 17-18 speed boats moving in from the NE; AIS is off. The VLCC on the top-right is the SEAWAYS ROSALYN. She's packing 2MB Saudi oil to China

Now this is an interesting claim, its one that we`ve all heard before and I for one am rather dubious about it for rather obvious very good reasons, however it never seems to completely go away.....so who knows...

It would be nice if it turned out to be true tho....:yes4:
P-800 Oniks with 600km range would be better than P-270 Moskit's 250km range... But if Iran indeed received the Moskit in 2001 then that is a long time with which to work on upgrades such as increasing the range... :)

It’s likely true. After all Iran announced it is working on supersonic cruise missiles and Iran typically starts with a PREVIOUS establish design in a new field before moving on to more domestic designs (ex KH-55 for LR cruise missile and chinese missiles for anti ship missiles).

I wouldn’t be surprised if Iran’s first unveiled supersonic missile is based on the Moskit

Omissis

If it is not an optical illusion, it appears that the superstructure indicated with the orange arrow is larger in size on the Damavand-2
