Iran is planning to build an archer cannon? Like this one?

Seems like Ukraine war changed the perception of artillery and got the project the necessary funding it needed to move to prototype then production model.

Seems like Ukraine war changed the perception of artillery and got the project the necessary funding it needed to move to prototype then production model.

Longer range cannon is always welcome but we don't lack cannon . What we need is making more guided shell .if we build cannon but faail on that ground we see something like Russian army . By the way hope they add some sort of cunterbattery radar to the system for faster response to enemy fire.

Iran already makes laser guided shell.

Archer uses GPS guided shells. So iran will need to make a new type of shell. Plus much higher range up to 50KM with archer.

Depends if artillery rocket is cheaper or GPS guided shell.

Archer uses GPS guided shells. So iran will need to make a new type of shell. Plus much higher range up to 50KM with archer.

Depends if artillery rocket is cheaper or GPS guided shell.

Russia also produce precision weaponry but the key is quantity alongside quality

Might be a revamp of one of these:

The last ones quite interesting as it has both a magazine and autoloader fitted,its clearly the most advanced out of the 3.
It is very surprising that at least one of these systems was not produced in small numbers and put into limited service for evaluation.

Recently Army ground forces announced successful test of a new smart artillery.

This is what I was thinking to.

Just use this existing platform and upgrade it to a greater level.
