Actually Pizza or Pazza is an ancient Persian cuisine and Achaemenid soldiers used a round loaf of bread mixed with date, cheese and some other delicious stuff and then Romans copied it
Pazza پزا = cooked, Paz = cooking
But Pizza has tomato, and tomato can't be a ancient Persian cuisine ingredient .
Btw Tomato is also a widely used ingredient in current Iranian Cuisine, is it not true?
e.g: A "Persian Omelette" is a omelette with tomato.
No honestly these days it’s more about vegan this vegan that, I’m simple just cheese, I can not stand olives anymore lived in Palestine when I was a child, that was basically half what we ate,it grew all around my grandmother’s land.
I think that kind of olive pizza is more with the real origin of Italian pizza: a cheap food for common people.
American cuisine adapt foreign cuisine to local taste, like they did in Tex Mex cuisine.
The most sold kind of pizza in USA is Peperonni, and vegan substitutes are even more expensive than meat.
