I think their consumption models are based on last year (1400).My guess is that this winter a medium family should be at group 7/8 of consumers so their average would be close to 200 toman per 1 cubic meter.

It's interesting to see government is and was promoting small houses over apartments because it's cheaper to build these small houses !!. Today they announced the difference and it's 320 million toman cheaper.

I wonder if they even calculated energy savings of efficient housing in long term....

Remember story of gas and water pipes and Shahrdari ?
I guess how small houses are efficient or not is more related to how they are built . if they continue to build houses as they do right now without any insulation layer , i doubt there will be any solution to the rising energy consumption in households.
you can't blame people for their higher usage , when we give them houses that leak heat from anywhere or cars that their average petrol usage is 3 time the average of the world. , the protocols and law in these regards must become harder and more importantly enforced more seriously . if one builder fail to insulate the house they must not permit him to sell the houses by just give him a small fine , they simply must tell them go insulate the building and then come , its enough tolerating car maker plays , they must be told you are protected for half a century , now enough is enough , these are standards your cars must follow , if you can build a car , if you can't go away and let somebody else do it.
these are the only way we can reach international standards on energy usage

by the way group 7 and 8 in khuzestan uses as much as group 4 in for example Azerbaiejan . it's more complex . in azerbaiejan for that amount of usage you pay 1/3rd of the money you have to pay for the same amount in khuzestan and no they changed the prices

well I yet to see a home with 28 degree internal temperature , that house is a little warm for comfort

Different types of homes

Gas consumption in Iran is so high because of super cheap prices..Here in Eastern Canada I heat my house with propane and I pay 0.85 cents per liter.
I have read that price of gas in Iran is so cheap that Iranians when they overheat their houses they do not bother to lower the thermostat...they open the windows!!!!.Iranians pay 5 cents/liter for petroleum, almost nothing for electricity and almost nothing for natural gas....All subsidized by Government.
ok cool, this is interesting to know. Wow, those petrol prices are verry cheap.
This unnatural system of subsidizing consumer is crazy...I was hoping Raisi Government will do something about that but nothing yet...not even gradual increase..crazy.
What makes it crazy? To me, i see it as a possible Iranian version of state benefits for the Iranian citizen- to be honest with you- maaany oil and commodity rich countries struggle to properly dispense benefits to citizens, from the oil/gas/mineral wealth...but in this case it seems Iranian govt has some actually effective and deliverable methods of returning benefits to Iranian citizens that is at least partly funded by the country's natural wealth or and resources. As long as its relatively efficiently done, and its not eating up the national and state budgets inapproriately or ineffectively, then its actually ok- its just different, but its still relevant and important benefits to citizens- Islamic Republic's version of socialism? Its underlying principles are socialistic a bit IMO.

So why is Iran such an enormous gas consumer. 4th in the world
well remember someone on here or so said that Gas is used for industrial activities- Germany being the case in point- after gas from Russia via Nordstream got cut off, German industrial output started to tank..recession set in after.

Iran probably has alot of industrial production and activities going on...especially considering its resistance economy which mandates it produce alot of the important and strategic things it needs, to reduce leverage from foreign countries and foreign exchange bleeding.

if you are legally import and export things the dollar for you is 28500-30000 .
that 41000 toman is not for that role
The Nima rate follows the Iran's free market rate with a 10~15% difference, But now they've decided to fix the Nima exchange rate at 28500 so this exchange is not going to adjust for inflation anymore and using this exchange rate for converting between USD and IRR is going to lead to erroneous results, Going forward the free market exchange rate is going to represent the reality better.

Role of wealth in pushing new method and technologies

Almost everywhere you look you see similar examples of investment or crazy ideas of wealthy people that created new tools for mankind, and there is no deny in it for example car , train ships or airplanes and ... each one of them at first was uniquely available to a few wealthy or inventor then because of their importance it became mainstream for everybody.

In our country it's different since

1.they don't invent shit (most cases) they just bring in other people's ideas and make more money with it or steal ideas from inventors here (scam them )

2.we are talking about energy (gas price here) and everybody here uses subsidies from top industrial users that pay 20000 to biggest households that consume the most.all of them use subsidies (some less some more).like always poor people pay for explorations to building wells to paying for extractions and then when it's time to use it's fruits these guys are ahead of them in line of using benefits.

I am in agreement with you that Iran economy is not $2 trillion dollars and it is not $230 billion either ...my point was that you can not evaluate Iranian economy (GDP) based on an exchange rate that a tourist pays in a street corner.. free market (street corner!) exchange rate of US dollar in Iran is completely detached from Iranian economy because Iranian trade transactions ($200 billion++) do not happen based on that rate..the closest rate is "Nima rate" and the current Iranian budget that was presented yesterday is based on 23000 ..
You are making it hard on yourself, Look up Iran's GDP at world bank's website.
PS: our fellow PDF member @Cancerous Tumor few months ago did a very detailed (exchange free) calculation of GDP using Brazil economy for comparison..and he came up with a figure of around $ 1 trillion dollars .
Calculating country's GDP by comparing it with another country?! That's new.

So military budget has increased for the Army and IRGC, but in the context of inflation, is a net negative or net positive?

Negative, if intention of government for fixing it's expenses is true if it's not true then we can call it another day in Iran.

Yes it's not the accurate way and based on feelings rather than relying on army of students and professors that work in both World Bank and IMF :D

Yes Iran does-
Nope
stop using western methods
LOL.
afterall what backs the USD despite all its debt and risks?
The same thing that backs the IRR.
the fact that IRan created more dollar millionaires in the past several years than many countries combined hints at a large objective GDP.
?????
So Iran's GDP is determined by AMerica (US dollar exchange rate)?
No it's determined by Iran's central bank using IRR.
for you, and for everyday Iranians who need and transact in dollars yes.
Yeah for everyday Iranians that's the reality.

$1.6 - 1.8 trillion dollars based on feelings at 2020.but it was close to IMF data.

The government belive was $1.04 trillion for the same year (i think they meant GDP nominal but im not sure about it).

Hey am I crazy or is Raisi & his staff are really running the countries economy into the ground.
After revolution the most accurate budgets belong to Mr Khamenei's government (I think) and it's during war too.Mr Raisy wants to replicate that (I think ).How he is ganna do it with 40% inflation ? (I don't know )

The uproar over the UK-Iranian guy getting executed seems to have hurt some in foreign governments, they weren't this vocal when other executions were happening.

Seems like a nerve was struck with MI-6

I suspect part of that is because this clown was able to "buy" himself a dual citizenship, something that iran doesnt recognize anyway,so "technically" he was [past tense :azn: ] a uk citizen.
In reality of course its simply just another part of the recent 💩propaganda war💩 against iran over its supplying of weapons to russia.
