Iran is actually building drones for its own defence, so why should anyone expect a Global-hawk-like drone from Iran? Iran is smart enough to produce small, sophisticated and efficient drones to cover itself and its area of the Persian Gulf, some of these drones will be used for an AWACS like system in air combat situations in an operational role, others will be used for tactical reconnaissance and land combat, yet others will serve as maritime surveillance drones armed to engage and destroy other drones or for defending navy speedboats and self defence against helicopters, So the main role of all these drones is mainly a support one of utmost importance in modern warfare, Karrar for instance is for combat only as a support for ground troops.
So while they are not beauties in term of aesthetics they are meant for combat and technological contest rather than for a beauty contest.
