Iran Successfully Tests Simorgh SLV

No,the hwasong 14 uses a single engine of around 75-80 tonnes of thrust, the simorgh uses an engine block that combines four engines for around 120 tonnes of thrust. There is a little bit of similarity between the simorgh and the dprks unha slv in that they both use the same 4 engine approach, even using the same engines in fact, tho the execution is a little different in that the simorgh uses an extra turbopump to run the vernier engines which necessitates moving the engines further apart compared to the unha, you can see this in these 3d models of both vehicles

I think it would be better if Iran went to the KOSMOS-3M design for the 2nd stage & beyond!

Congratulations

This achievement confirmed Iran's access to LEO orbit and fortunately most of spying and military satellites are working in this orbit.

The future program, Qaem SLV , will access GEO orbit. Iran can develop a national positioning system after that and due to budget problems i guess it would look like French Doppler Orbitography and Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite (DORIS).

Finally Simorgh flew.

Funny how history is so easily forgotten when things don't go your way!

FYI the Butchers of the Middle East today are the Saudi's a U.S. ally in fact without Saudi Money, Russian & French weapons + U.S. intel to back them Saddam wouldn't have lasted 2 year against Iran!!!

Saddam was given $80 Billion USD from the Saudi's alone to purchase massive amounts of weapons because he kept loosing them! At the same time U.S., Russia & most of Europe were putting sanctions & weapons embargos on Iran!
U.S. was doing escort duties for Saddam's Oil tankers!

But that was then by 2003 Saddam was no threat to Iran or anyone else for that matter while Iran was mass producing 1300km Shahab-3 he was only left with a few 300km scud's & 10 scud TEL's (launcher) , His Air Force was mostly grounded with No Navy to speak of (Destroyed by Iran in the early 80's) just a bunch of Tanks & APC that were nothing more than chunks of metal & barely operable!
By 2003 he couldn't even buy ATGM's while Iran was mass producing it's own! And Iran in the 80's took out more Iraqi Aircraft than the U.S. ever did from 1991-2003

So it would seem that Saddam only became a threat to the U.S. at a time when he really wasn't a threat to anyone!
Not forgotten... I am fully aware of the shameful history of the west in supporting Saddam: from lack of any outrage in instigating the war to his use of chemical weapons against civilians and Iranian soldiers. Saddam was a tool to check the power of "radicalism" emanating from IRI; it was wrong and immoral to support Saddam.
However, if you think Kim Jong Un is different from Saddam then you are very naive. They are made of the same cloth, both madmen with delusions of grandeur, willing to employ any tool and means to achieve their goals. One is dead, fortunately, while the other threatens S. Korea and Japan.

@2800 @yavar @AmirPatriot
Shahid Tehrani's colleague describes their final Qaem SLV project which was a 4 stage missile that completely uses solid fuel in all stages. It will be a monster, it's first stage part had 20 meters length. A real solid fueled beast :)

Doesn't a 4 stage missile seem wholly inefficient? Not to mention your increasing the chances of potential failure from 2 stage SLV to now an extra 1 or 2 stages.

I mean I am trying to imagine the payload potential of a Qaem missile with 4 attached boosters.

Thank you bro.
Congradulations Saudis like always on their donkey forum doubt irans technological achievements
Their level of iq = camel at best

The more I hear of Qaem, the less it makes sense... 3.5 metre diameter (@SOHEIL ) and 20 metre height just for a first stage. 4 stages total. All solid fuel. Solid fuel is hard and for SLVs, you really want the control of liquid fuel. And it won't be man rated. I can tell he is not telling the truth when he talks about satellites to 1000 km orbit. Not with a 4 stage launcher. You should get much more than that.

It just doesn't seem like an SLV. It's an ICBM through and through. What Iran wants that for... I cannot know.

Fantastic article:

An excerpt by the experts:

"And while that does mean that Iran’s space programs could help advance an ICBM program, it also suggests something else — that the flow of technology has reversed. We are now seeing innovations in Iran that later appear in North Korea. Iran could build an ICBM just as well as North Korea, if not better, whenever it wants."

Again your making assumption about a county that hasn't started a war in 60 year!!!

You want a bad guy? How about a country that is causing famine and mass starvation?

This is happening NOW!!! That's what the Saudi's are doing to their own neighbors & why? because the Saudi's think they should be the ones to decide who rules Yemen not the Yemeni people!
And they are doing it with American Weapons!!!

And I should believe Kim Jung Un is a bad guy because? why? What has he done? Is he invading and bombing his neighbor and trying to force his ideology on his neighbors? Or should I believe he is a bad guy because Fox News said so?

North Korea hasn't started a war in 60 years! Iran hasn't started a war & invaded another country in 250 years! And they are bad! And the Saudi's that are bombing people and causing famine right on their own boarder are good all because they buy American Weapons! LOL! Get real!

This one was the most interesting between the commentators:

He is saying that Shia Rafidis are worse than Zionists. That's exactly what Americans are trying to make Muslims believe. In the end of his words, he praises the butcher of Syrians, Iraqis and Yemenis.
How delusional !!!?
@Malik Alashter Bro, a must read, written by a Saudi.

However they had good/logical comments too. The one i provided, is their current strategy under Bin Salman.
