Iran still coy on Turkey's overtures

I guess, Iranian government is smart. They know that Iraq is now their satellite and Iran has control over Iraq so they want to go to Baghdad for negotiation. They can trust those Iraqis. But with Turks, it is not that much so, since they are a NATO member. And India is out of question to host such a event since it would have been rejected by Iran outright due to many reasons including Indians not being sincere towards the Iranians. They are just after their profits be Iran alive or dead. I guess Iran should only be ready to negotiate either in Baghdad or Pyongyang. The latter would be more secured for Iranians. It will not be like every room, Iranians go will be wired and every car they travel on will have pin hole cameras to allow west to know what Iranian negotiators are thinking.

That would have been the best option. A just option. For both Iran and US. Not many people know this but US did not even recognize China and instead used to recognize Taiwan only. It was Pakistani diplomats that mended the relationship between China and US during Nixon administration and both sided benefited from this relationship. China to this day remembers that debt. US has forgotten. Pakistan has both the credentials and the expertise to mend all issues in a respectful way between US and Iran. I am sure Iranians would not have any objection to it. But alas, US leaders have turned to minions of Israel and can not see anymore what is good for their country. US no more has leaders of the caliber of Nixon or Kennedy. Otherwise they would be in Islamabad requesting for assistance to solve the problem. What can Turkey do? Nothing. What can India do? Nothing. Only Pakistan is in a situation to bring win win for everyone. Now many people do not know this but India a nation of 1.25 billion has fewer diplomats than New Zealand a nation of 4 million. US Iran relation is too complicated to be managed by rookies. Pakistan has done it before and can do it again.

That is never going to happen. It never happened with China. Only when Pakistan broke the deal that Nixon went to China to meet with Chinese president. Some one has to break a deal if a US president is to fly to Tehran to meet with Iranian leaders. He is not going to just pack up and go. Turkey and India can not do that since it is not in their interest to see US Iran ties grow as their status will then decrease in the region. If Iran and US relation is normalized countries like Turkey, Saudi and Israel have the most to lose. No to mention India since it would not then be able to buy your oil for Indian Rupee. Only Pakistan can sincerely work to that end, since it has a stake in this better relationship.

So how is Pakistan going to do that ? With what tools, what for diplomatic influence do they have on Iranian officials or more importantly the US foreign policy. because we all know no matter who wins the policy stays the same in favor of Israel

Actually the geo strategics interest's of the region push Iran Pakistan Russia and China together. I was not suggesting a role for Pakistan to mediate. I don't think mediation is possible. I think long term in the future no matter who the leaders are the dye has already been cast. There is the Putin version or the American version for central and south Asia. America envisages Iran and Pakistan to be compliant Putins does not. America is hoping for regime change in Iran and so it can bully both Iran and Pakistan projecting its power through a proxy that is India this of course would also contain china

You know, if it wasn't for Pakistan's help in normalizing relations between China and the USA, the Republic of China (Taiwan) might still be sitting in OUR seat in the UNSC today.

Your country is the way a big country should be that is fair unlike the american thieves. I do hope long term maybe over the next 10 20 years we have an EEC type of free movement of goods and people between our nations and Iran would be good to join too

Both Pakistan and Iran were amongst the first in the world to recognize the PRC, and both Pakistan and Iran were the two nations that have consistently had good relations with us. Not just since the founding of the PRC, but for thousands of years before that as well, from the time when we were not nation-states but ancient civilizations in Asia.
