They might. One thing I say that goes against public policy, let Iran have nukes, show them the consequences of irresponsible use. I think it just might help stabilise the region, and counter-intuitivily, integrate Iran into a responsibble stewardship of the region. (once you have a vested interest in stability, you fall in line with the world view.) Iran now is like a teen-ager, learning to say "no". In time, they will want a stable area as much as anyone. (When they reach a certain level of affluence, perhaps this is why their enemies try to keep them radical))

You do realize that in the West, the term "stability" means becoming subservient to the West?

Any monetary help came from Gaddafi in the 1970s and that was because he thought Bhutto would give him the finished product. This notion of Saudi's even wanting Pakistani nukes is a fallacy. KSA depends on USA to protect it as is evidenced by the first Gulf War so why would they want nukes. To annoy their 'uncle' the USA?

And I do hope the Iranian's get the nukes if for no reason to annoy the Saudi's. If anybody want's proof of how the Saudi's are a two faced hypocrites consider this. Iran has made a enemy out of Isreal and invited retaliation because of it's support of Palestinian right to freedom.

How do fellow Arab's brothers of the Palestinians, the Saudi's pay back Iran? By telling the Yanks secretly to 'chop the head of the snake' That says it all.

The Saudi's striking oil was probably one of the biggest disaster to hit the Islamic world. The petrodollars allowed the Saudi's to export their primitive fossilized Islam to the Islamic world. This has wrought destruction to poor countries where those petrodollars have sponsored a tidal wave of primitive Salafism and fueled terrorism.

Of course stability means obedience, you obey the laws of your country, your country obeys the laws of the United Nations, or it is considered a pariah.

Even republics have laws, and democracy in its purest form is indeed intolerable and dangerous, it is mob rule and laws are determined by mob rule, quite possibly to the detriment of all minorities. Our founding fathers knew the dangers of democracy and consciously built a republic.

The UN is democracy in its purest form unless the UNSC is involved, in which case it is an oligarchy.

The UN itself has little power to enforce laws, it is thus the members that must enforce them (typically the 'ruling oligarchy; class members).

The US and its coalition of allies is typically considered the power behind the 'binding' laws of the UN. You know what? It is to a good extent. If the US told the UN to take a hike who else would choose to spend the resources to enforce it?
