I find it very strange that large numbers of Pakistanis would travel hundreds of miles west from the flooded areas to Iran in the hopes of seeking refuge there. Its not going to happen and they should know that. The Pakistani government's policy of not allowing foreigners to send aid workers to their country to directly work there in providing and distributing the aid these countries and agencies have donated is clearly irrational and unworkable given the below situation. Unfortunately, Iran is only a developing country itself with its own problems to deal with. There's no chance of Iran allowing any of these immigrants to come inside the country.

TEHRAN, Aug. 28 (MNA) -- A huge crowd of Pakistanis from the flood-stricken areas are waiting across the border to enter Iran, Iranian MP Abbasali Noura said on Saturday.

Although the Iran-Pakistan border is under tight control, unfortunately, some Pakistanis have managed to enter Iran through its border with Afghanistan, Noura told the Mehr News Agency.

Noting that the affected areas are located 700 to 800 kilometers away from Iran, he said many more people from those areas will probably head for the Iranian border and arrive there in the next two to three weeks.

He also said the Iranian Foreign Ministry should devise plans to deal with the potential arrival of a huge number of people.

However, it would be more prudent to encourage the people to stay in Pakistani territory and to provide them with humanitarian assistance there, Noura added.

The flood waters swept south Pakistan after leaving millions homeless and submerging millions of acres of farmland. The floods that began nearly a month ago with hammering monsoon rains in the northwest have affected more than 20 million people.

These refugees have been sent by human smugglers and conspirators with support foreign powers. Iran should detain them and then deport them back to Pakistan. I don't see the refugees crossing Afghanistan or India border which is closer and they are traveling 800 KM to Iranian border.

How come the effectives travel so far without any support or food.
I highly doubt their are any gathering at the border region. I simply do not credit, Iranian news papers.
Why our local news are missing it?
In general those flood effectives are in trouble who are stuck in flood waters, those who are out are being taken care well by the local societies and individuals.

Iran’s Deputy Police Chief gave an interview to the press today but did not specifically mention anything about a mass of Pakistani immigrants trying to cross into Iran, but did discuss another contentious issue Iran has with Pakistan over border control and security. Below is a summary of the main points raised in his press interview.

Iran Urges Eastern Neighbors to Boost Security along Borders

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Deputy Police Chief Ahmad Reza Radan blamed the country's eastern neighbors for their negligent approach towards the spread of terrorism in the region, and urged them to boost security measures along their shared borders with Iran.

"Unfortunately the neighboring countries (of Iran) do not play an effective, if any, role in establishing security," Radan told reporters on Sunday.

He criticized Iran's eastern neighbors for their lack of cooperation with Tehran in boosting security at the joint borders, and said despite Iran's follow-up measures, these states have not cooperated with Tehran in this regard as they could.

The deputy police chief warned that "Iran's patience has its own limits", and said the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to chase and confront the terrorists who create insecurity inside Iran and escape the country through its borders in the East.

He further pointed out that Iran has a three-year plan on its agenda to tighten security controls over its bordering areas, and said the country has decided to adopt further measures within the next three years to block any trespass of its borders by the terrorists.

Iran's decision for intensifying security measures and entanglements alongside its borders followed a series of terrorist operations in its southeastern and eastern provinces by a group of terrorists who escaped the country through its borders with Pakistan after each operation.

In a last case, two bombs blasted in front of the Zahedan Grand Mosque in Sistan and Balouchestan on July 15, killed at least 27 people and injured over 270 more.

The Pakistan-based Jundollah terrorist group, directly sponsored and supported by Washington, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Iran has repeatedly urged Pakistan to stop terrorists from crossing the two countries' borders and to cooperate in tracking down the terrorists.

The Pakistan-based Jundollah terrorist group has waged several terrorist attacks on Iran and killed a large number of Iranian officials, militaries and civilians.

In 2007, Jundollah kidnapped 30 people in Sistan and Balouchestan province and took them to Pakistan.

Iranian authorities had earlier presented evidence to Islamabad that showed links between Pakistani intelligence services and the Jundollah terrorist group.

The documents were based on the confessions made by Abdolhamid Rigi, the brother of the ringleader of Jundollah, who was hanged a few months ago.

Jundollah's No. one was also arrested and executed by the Iranian security forces earlier this year, but some of the group members are still at large.

Iran has rejected reports that the survivors of Pakistan's devastating floods have thronged behind Iran's borders, trying to enter the country.


"We have not received any news concerning the surge of flood-hit people of Pakistan to Iran's borders and the security officials of the Interior Ministry have not confirmed the case whatsoever," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told a Press TV reporter at his weekly press conference on Tuesday.

He, however, urged all countries as well as Muslims to spare no efforts to assist the flood-ravaged people of Pakistan, adding that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's plan to visit the flood-hit country is on the agenda.

Commenting on Iran's upcoming meeting with the 5+1 group (the US, France, Russia, China, Britain and Germany), Mehmanparast reiterated that the meeting will be held in due time under the condition that Iran's prerequisites are observed.

He also noted that the construction of new research reactors is a long-term program and that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has the plans on the agenda.

"We announced that we have long-term programs for the construction of new nuclear sites and all our nuclear activities are peaceful and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) inspectors," Mehmanparast further explained.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also snubbed statements of former US Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton -- who had urged a military offensive against Iran's nuclear facilities -- as rhetoric to stop Tehran's nuclear program.

"John Bolton's remarks leave no room for discussion," Mehmanparast concluded.

If I am not wrong then I know that there were a lot Iranian living in Karachi during and after Iran-Iraq conflict. If pakistan allowed Iranian back then, than Iran sould allow those with genuine need since Pakistan going through hard time. Islamic brotherhood should be given a chance to survive.

Lastly, human are genetically programmed to move around so there is no way legal or illegal migration posibly stopped.

Most of Iranians in Pakistan have migrated to Western countries. Many have integrated and are now part of Pakistani society. They should be offered Pakistani citizenship.
