Iran has rockets ‘to attack Saudi Arabia’

Iran’s Brigadier-General Morteza Qurbani has revealed that there are 2,000 rockets waiting for the orders of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to attack Saudi Arabia, Fars news agency has reported.
“Iranians must not be afraid of the enemy threats,” said the head of the Revolution and Defence Museum. “We won the war with Iraq with the least military equipment, but if Khamenei gave his orders today to attack Saudi Arabia, we have 2,000 rockets ready to set off from Isfahan.”

Qurbani, who is a close aide to the commander of Al-Quds Brigade, General Qasim Suleimani, added: “When the war with Iraq started, Saddam Hussein said he wanted to have lunch in Al-Mahmarah and his dinner in Al-Ahwaz, then to head for Tehran. However, we stopped him and liberated our cities from the Iraqi occupation at that time when we were suffering from a strict siege.”

He explained that the lines of defence for the Iranian revolution are today in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. “We are ready to carry out the orders of Khamenei and move anywhere he wants.”

Iran-Saudi relations have been difficult since the Iranian revolution in 1979. They deteriorated further after the start of the conflicts in Syria and Yemen, with the Sunni government in Riyadh sensing an increased threat from Shia across the region.

Earlier this week, the Saudi-led Arab coalition seized an Iranian ship carrying weapons to Houthis in Yemen.

agree , not to mention both sides lack the intelligence capability to make an effective use of Ballistic Missiles against each other.

Otherwise , GCC is more advanced in every field from ground forces to the massive air force they have built up over years, not to mention Egypt will also be on the side of GCC as Saudis are actively funding their massive purchases.

Saudis don't have a crap load of ballistic missiles. They bought less than a hundred from China a million years ago and they're now useless. Military balance is indeed in favor of the GCC though. But they're Arabs after all. You give them a rifle and they'll use it as a spoon. Give them a tank and they'll find a way to get a flat tire. Essentially, with Arabs, you need a different measuring stick. They haven't fought a single war in the past century where they haven't put down their weapons and ran. Or left billions of dollars worth of armament behind to be blown up by the enemy without resistance.

They simply don't know how to fight, but they do have the advantage.

First of all, the basis of this news is misinterpreted. No one threatened anyone with war. It was a comment regarding response to any kind of hostile action against Iran by any country, Saudis included.

Secondly, you are giving Saudis too much credit. No they can't patrol Iranian skies for decades, because almost all of their major facilities near Persian gulf (economic hub of Saudi Arabia) will be destroyed by short range ballistic missiles and hundreds or thousands of cruise missiles and they can't even afford to continue the war for months, let alone a decade, while Saudi oil exports will be brought down to zero in few days, Iran is used to oil exports of less than 1 million barrel a day.

Plus Iran has started a massive indigenous air defense program and it is beginning to bear fruits, producing short and medium range air defense system and soon a long range one, all produced in huge numbers. We don't buy air defense from any other country and if anything, identifying, downing or shooting down various kinds of foreign spy drones all over Iran is only a small indication.

Btw, please don't compare a fully indigenous missile program with mass production with buying a handful of old Chinese ballistic missiles.
