Iran discovers MASSIVE oil field with 50 billion barrels reserves

. .
The oil minister said the discovery added 22.2 billion barrels to the country’s oil reserves. Out of the amount at the site, only a tenth — 2.2 billion barrels — can be extracted due to technological limitations.

Due to the area’s “dense and stone material,” the amount that can be extracted is only “2.2 billion barrels, considering the current technology we have,” he added.
The discovery spans 2,400 square kilometers (926 square miles), according to a map Zanganeh showed journalists.
It could potentially continue towards the southwest and east. The oil layer is about 3.1 kilometers (nearly two miles) deep, with an average thickness of 80 meters.

. .
Is there technology available in other countries which would enable extracting the 20 Billion barrels?

Iran Oil Minister gives details of new oilfield discovered in southern Iran: Its name is Namavaran. The discovery started 2016 with three oil wells. The old layer of the field contained 31.3 billion barrels, and the new layer contains 22 billion.

The result of this discovery is 300 peresent increase in the fuel price for Iranians ...

More like 50% rise and limitation of 60 liters per month :

Iran imposes petrol price rises of 50% and more

The Iranian government has increased petrol prices by at least 50 per cent in an unpopular move as the administration of Hassan Rouhani struggles to offset the impact of US sanctions and a sharp fall in its income. Tehran authorities announced at midnight on Thursday that each motorist could get 60 litres of petrol at IR15,000 per litre, a 50 per cent price increase. Extra fuel would be still available but at IR30,000 per litre.

Iranian cars gas usage is around 9-10 litter per 100 kilometers .... And iran is massive mountainous area which will increase gas usage and our car technology is belong to 1980s era due too close bazzar too foreign cars ....

So our average monthly usage is around 100 to 150 per car in a month ....

60 liter qouta is not enough , so peopke have to purchase gas with price tag of 30000 rial per litter ....

indeed. I think 60 litter is about one tank .

I think here most consume at least 4 times as much , but as you said in Iran the distances are much longer .

Water, fuel, electricity, Gas etc. are not gifts, so they should not be subsidized, they should be taxed to create revenue for the state and to disencourage waste and smuggling.

Well, if you compare the price to Europe or even Turkey, then our income should be the same .... the payment of a normal worker in Iran is less than $0.45 in an hour .....

We are buying car for 220 percent more expensive than average European .... we have to buy all electronic device 2-3 times more expensive than an average European or Turkish or Arab in our region while there is no warranty and support for Iranians consumers due the sanctions ....
In short, our income is in Rial but our expense is in $ with additional fee which our government add to it ...

People like you couldn't live in this condition, and so they already left Iran just like you ...
