Iran and the Shah: What Really Happened

Referring to him as some great sovereign bastion in a region dominated by the West/Soviets is at most dishonest or laughable
There are some fundamental differences between being sovereign and trying to be sovereign, Basically being king puts one out of the circle of being sovereign, if you read the article thoroughly it says, the man was performing some sovereign behaviors that were not in the interest of world powers back then.

How is that any different from basically EVER current ME state? All of them have made decisions that have not always been in favor of the West. If that is enough to label him as some "bastion of resistance" then you might just as well add me to the list.

Hey men, you guys are acting like real nonsense here, Sadly it seems that you guys are really into troll fest.
sad @rmi5 transformed to a fanatic of hatred :(
and anyway no need to answer a thread with the haters of Iranians coming ... they clearly have a big psycho problem

Instead of telling BS, and throwing mud at the speaker, tell me which parts of my quote was wrong.

. .
Is @rmi5 wrong when he says that Iranian Arabs and other minorities (almost every single one of them) suffers from discrimination and hardships?
"The dark side of the moon contains more holes", that's a true fact but implying it here in this irrelevant thread makes a nonsense, troll fest demanding post, out of it.
Just try to be sticked to the thread, that's all I'm saying.

And also try to be polite, either.

Meanwhile Farsis in Dubai;

You see we Arabs have a big heart.

Horrible music but ignore that.

That's really ridiculous. Instead of having even one iota of humanity sentiments in these educated Iranians, like @New , they prefer to cover the disgusting racism in Iran.
That's why I never trust a persian in my life. Since I know that as long as racism is concerned, they all, from Khomeini fans to Shah fans to their elites are exactly the same.

.
I have noticed that they never report the reality. It is very good that we have a sane and very knowledgeable voice such as you @rmi5 Some might believe their lies and bullshit.
what is saying the expert of Iran LOL
sure you don'"t care of Iranians.. you just come in Iranian threads to insult / comment negatively about Iranians and now kurds or berbers

calm down . arab people are not the center of the world .
when you will understand, and so for rmi5, that we are all human beings
stop your cheat about ethnic stuff ... this is for low IQ people

Well whenever people discuss such topics with you guys you always disappear. So do we have a choice?

I think I proved my point anyway for all to see. If even you sane Iranian members cannot admit such problems and how your regime treats your OWN people then don't blame @rmi5 if he wants his people to rule themselves or other minorities of Iran (Arab, Kurd, Baluch, Turkmen etc.).

I hate the ones who cover for criminals more than criminals themselves. Your type are responsible for every racism against those people.
So, is it just a couple of photos? Do you seriously want me to mention the statistics about literacy rates, unemployment, access to clean water, ... of Al-Ahwazi arabs in here? I can do so very quickly if you want.

My video speaks for itself and I am not sure what Kurds, Berbers have anything to do with it. @rmi5 obviously knows everything that goes on in Iran. I am not entirely clueless either and if I was clueless on a certain topic I could easily research it myself. We live in a free world after all were everyone (almost) has access to books, the internet etc. so he can become wiser.

I did not know that speaking about the Iranian regime (when it meddles all over the Arab world, threatens half of the world etc.) is "insulting" Iranians. You guys have no problem doing the opposite so why can't we?

@rmi5 fanatic? LOL. Anyway I saw how most Farsi users insulted him on PDF and continue to do so. I do not blame him.

Can you believe it? This guy is apparently an Lebanese Arab on his father's side yet seem to be angry if the truth is exposed about a regime that he "apparently" is against.

The Shah was the second closest ally of the West after Israel. Iran heavily relied on the West. The Shah himself wanted to emulate a Western system, politics etc. all which were not native to Iran and which angered the lower classes and some of the middle classes.
I don't agree with much of what you have said in this thread, but I think this is most certainly correct.

The Shah was NOT overthrown because he was a tyrant, (As Carter's ruling Democratic Party and western liberals and leftists kept arguing for.). He was overthrown because he was a Western-style modernizer in a country where the majority of people were Shia and traditional and rejected those modernizations. I think it also important to understand that what President Carter did was not necessarily how ALL of the American people felt. Most of us conservatives thought Carter a weak president with a dangerous foreign policy of undercutting our traditional allies like the Shah (and Pakistan, btw. :pakistan:), despite Carter's hypocritical words of praise for him while coddling our enemies like the Soviet empire. In the end, the Shah was too sick and too demoralized to do what he should have done, IMHO, which was order his army to restore order.

polite, my ***. When my brethren are oppressed in a daily basis, you just ask me to be cool and smile at the people who oppress them? Sorry, but there is something in me, called "Gheyrat" if you have not heard of its concept, so far.

Mate, we all know that. But regarding your first comment, then what is there not to agree with? Am I not just reporting the realities and hypocrisy and the difference in how Iranians in the GCC (Arab world) are treated and Arabs in Iran?

The difference is as clear as the difference between day and night.

The Pahlavi dynasty, originally Kurds, were appointed by the Brits. So of course they were Western allies. There are no real sovereign nations in the ME. Even Israel is under great influence of the West.
