Iran acquiring technology to manufacture Siemens F-Class gas turbines

that's the distance between Irankhodro and Mapna!

You are right. That is a long topic which I have discussed to death with other members here, and you must have seen. To reach where you wish for, we must completely trust science, believe in it and love it. The love for science is lacking.

Iran is not Turkey.

When Iran was put under sanctions, Iran did not care for "agreement". It used the technologies it had bought from Siemens previously, to manufacture turbines without asking for "permission".

Iran is an independent country that respects others and their agreements as long as they respect Iran.

And the F-16 are assembled in Turkey. Manufacturing components from raw materials is something else. Technology cycle means, starting from minerals and simple raw materials and work your way up to a finished product.

One good way is to keep manufacturing without permission. Then put the license fee for each turbine in a domestic account that is frozen. The foreign company can get it when sanctions end. You are not violating any agreement.

MAPNA and Siemens Sign F-Class Turbine Agreement – MAPNA Group

Iran’s MAPNA Group and Germany’s Siemens AG chief executive officers signed a technology transfer agreement on Wednesday, March 02, 2016 that paves the way for manufacturing of F-class turbines by the Iranian company.

The agreement was made official today in Berlin in a ceremony attended by Iran’s Minister of Power Hamid Chitchian and Germany’s Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel.

The five-year agreement transfer technology to MAPNA in order to manufacture Siemens’ SGT5-4000F turbine.

Considered one of the best in its class, SGT5-4000F has a generation capacity of 307 MW and an efficiency rate of 40.1 percent. Used in a combined cycle power plant, it can help to achieve an efficiency rate of 59 percent.

The agreement was sealed after months of negotiations between MAPNA and Siemens. The two companies have been close partners in several industrial sectors including power and rail transportation.

Siemens chief Joe Kaeser visited MAPNA late February this year in what was the first visit by a CEO of the company to Iran.
