And one more very important question is are you stating the Texts in Hindu holy books can be edited ????does it make sense to you ? if rules can be changed now to accomodate new people in it ? what happens to moksha ???? the ultimate freedom from the cycle of life and birth ???

i was not there when Lord Krishna told the Gita and I have not read the Gita, as a born Hindu, i was taught to think of others before indulging in a action. its called as darma not to harm others for the sake of self ammusment and i have lived by this simple code. I thought india members keep saying their caste system is long gone. However, how could they still be able to track each person's caste???

I think india should totally outlaw any information that could indicate the person's caste. If names are associated with lower caste, persons with such names should be allowed to change their names to so-called higher caste names. In this way, sooner or later, simply by names, there is no way to tell what caste the person is from so that the caste system will be useless.

Contrary to what you might think........confirming ones caste makes him/her eligible for several government privileges reserved only for the "lower" caste people.......these privileges are not available for the "upper" caste people.......

BUT, identifying one's caste is NOT mandatory.....It's like, if you want the privileges you can mention your caste.......
This is a counter measure taken by the Indian government to compensate for the social deprivation faced by the "lower" caste people for decades....

Normally, it is very difficult to identify someone's caste based on his/her name.....
Caste can be identified by people's sir-name/last-name, but there are so many sir-names that people have long forgotten which one belongs to which caste......
In-fact, YOU will be surprised to know that, persons with SAME sir-name/last-name belong to DIFFERENT caste......thus, it is actually quite difficult to identify someone's caste by his/her name......unless the person himself says it...
(this debunks the theory that the Lady invigilators in this case picked on the students based on their caste)

a question striked my mind are Shudras allowed to eat beef ?

they can claim what ever caste they like, but if they are claiming them to be SC/ST, then a verification by the VAO is required to confirm that the person belongs to a society that is oppressed for very long by other caste and can be granted the lower caste status so that he/she can enjoy the reservations given to them.
else they can come and live along with a upper caste family, learn the customs, marry a spouce from that caste and become a member of that caste.

yes they can, its individual interest, Bramins are eating everying now a days, its a personal choice and Hinduism does not intervene at that level, it says you have to treat animals good and should not eat them but its up to the individual

My question arises from the assement ---> India is gonna be a superpower in the future as india's clout grows there would be a tendency to move more towards hinduism and which would happen mean defacto the brahmans would have more power, so it is safe to assume a muslim/jain/christian/sikh/tamil who ever wants to convert back to hinduism would prefer a higher caste than a lower caste.. just my opinion here!!!!

i don't know who gave you that idea that Bramins will be ruling the nation, we are a democracy and we have had PM/President/CM from lower caste.
when did Tamil became a new caste, Tamil is a language and we have Hindus, Christain, Muslim talking tamils.

Being a HINDU, i do not feel any thing special about my religion, I am just another human being like Mohamad or Islam or Robert of Chistianity. why would some people leave thier faith which their forefathers taught them and customs handed over 1000's of years for certain benifit some other religion offers.
if you do convert then you are reliquishing your identity of who you are. and you are being false to the teachings your ansystors belived in. if you feel that some of your religious customs are not good, remove them, you do not have to convert.

May be a Muslim or Christian will rejoice on hearing some one has converted to his/her religion but we Hindus do not. we see it as a action of renouncing who you are to become some one else what you are not.

lets say that you are going to assemble a computer, will you not buy all the best products from different companies to make the best computer, its similar to that, you do not need to be a Hindu or expose to every one that you are a HINDU to enjoy the fruit of Hinduism, you can be a Christian yet accpet the part of Hinduism which is rational and acceptable to modern socity. Every religion of the world has/had evil practices.....
Every religion harbours some kind of segregation based on caste,creed or race.....

Division among people is not exclusive to Hinduism....

Tell me, if someone wants to convert to Islam....then what would he become a Shia or a Sunni????

If someone wants to convert to Christianity....then what would he become a catholic or a Protestant????

Every religion has its own +ve and -ve aspects.....If you want to convert to any one of them, it's up to you decide which aspect you'll follow.....

Regarding Hinduism, I can tell you, it won't force you to follow any particular aspect....both +ve and -ve aspects are there....you can choose any one......Unlike other religions, which might force you to choose any particular aspect.....

kindly let me know which religion you are followiing and what is the reason that you are smartly targeting HINDUISM alone, are you really interested in Hinduism, if you are PDF is not the right place to find out if Hinduims is correct for you or not, better come to INDIA, go to Haridwar or any other holy place of Hindus, seek a spritual guide.
