To me the idea of conversion by self motivation is always acceptable but by the way these preachers do it in INDIA and the rest of the world its like they want the rest of the religion to perish so that theirs alone survive and that is the reaon that we are against conversion by preachers and that is the reason preachers are man handled
--- What more self motivation is needed when you see it through how the dalits are treated in india ?????? can you deny that there are no attrocities on dalits in india ???
the ban on Cow slaughter is only implemented in 2 states and do know INDIA has 29 states and 6 union territories.
...............................................

Christian pastors being beaten in india.....

.
What you fail to mention is this ban is only in BJP ruled states (BJP =Hindutva) ??? can you deny
that ????
its banned in Kashmir too, so is Kashmir ruled by BJP.
Its the elected representatives passing the rule and if the people don't like it they are empowered with all the right to protest.

...............................................
so i have not man handled people comming to my door steps saying that Jesus is calling me and my family to join in his umberla, might be the next time if they insist too much i'll call VHP or BJP to man handle them because i feel they are trying to alter the identity of this nation by false propaganda that only christians will go to heaven and we will go to hell.

kindly let me know which religion you are followiing and what is the reason that you are smartly targeting HINDUISM alone, are you really interested in Hinduism, if you are PDF is not the right place to find out if Hinduims is correct for you or not, better come to INDIA, go to Haridwar or any other holy place of Hindus, seek a spritual guide.
I am just a man trying to make a living and enjoy some conversation in PDF, instead you are probing me too much into complex things such us ban on cow slaughter which is passed by the assembly of a state which i am not part off

Yes cow slaughter ban law is passed in indian assembly right ??? if it is banned why is it banned ???????

is it banned to deny other minorities who consume beef as a source of protien or is it religiously motivated ?????

Every religion of the world has/had evil practices.....
Every religion harbours some kind of segregation based on caste, creed or race.....

Division among people is not exclusive to Hinduism....

Tell me, if someone wants to convert to Islam....then what would he become a Shia or a Sunni????

If someone wants to convert to Christianity....then what would he become a catholic or a Protestant????

Every religion has its own +ve and -ve aspects.....If you want to convert to any one of them, it's up to you decide which aspect you'll follow.....

Regarding Hinduism, I can tell you, it won't force you to follow any particular aspect....both +ve and -ve aspects are there....you can choose any one......Unlike other religions, which might force you to choose any particular aspect.....

Offbeat - i am not a expert on muslim relgions.
but from what i understand you can choose any of these as you wish and you will accepted into both sects, probably muslim members can vet this for me..

if someone wants to join christianity again: both follow same son of god Jesus so they can study both of them and choose what ever they wish to convert into.... i am not a christian cant vet it either...

There are no hard and fast rules to join any of these religions you can join any sect you like......

So all the minorities in india if they want to convert into hinduism, they can all be converted as brahmins ???? i think many people will like that idea --

Firstly, a HINDU "lower" caste person CAN choose to be of "general" caste(special term used for all the "upper" castes combined)......How??
In any govt. application/form, there is a separate category wherein people can specify their caste(so that, govt. can offer them privileges if they belong to any "lower" castes)......here, if they specify that they belong to the "general" caste.....then they become one....it's as simple as that....
BUT by doing so, they'll no longer be eligible for the privileges reserved only for the "lower" castes.....
So you see, choosing one's caste is in one's own hand.....but "lower" caste people choose to remain "lower" caste due to the privileges offered.....

Regarding conversion....if anyone converts to Hinduism....then he/she will OFFICIALLY belong to the "general caste"......

One can, by personal preference choose any caste....but even if he/she chooses any "lower" caste, the govt. won't be liable to offer him/her any privileges reserved for the "lower" castes..... as OFFICIALLY, convertees cannot choose any "lower" caste....
So don't worry.....you won't(can't) become a "dalit" after conversion.....

Is your question FINALLY answered????

that is more than suficient to answer him i hope. unless other wise he finds a contridictary source to dispute the same. INDIA is a complex country and a judgement given in 1970's might contridict with that of a judgement given in 2000. so i hope he goes through the entire IPC ammendments to find a contridiction to come back and argue.

.
Yes that is the Hindu belief....

BUT, Hinduism is not the state religion of India....

Many evil practices of Hinduism have been banned by law....and that's why today, in India, you see people getting punished for holding such views and causing harm to other individuals based on it.......the conviction of the Perpetrators in this case is an example....

BUT, Pakistanis follow their religious book strictly......and that's why SECTARIANISM is so much prevalent in Pakistan.....due to which religious minorities are killed by masses....

This thread is about two dalit girls being stripped in public. this poster seems to think that the "evil" his word in Hinduism can be legislated away by law. He also think that by bringing Pakistan and Islam into the equation and knocking Pakistan this somehow obviates the necessity to provide further explanation

Sorry mate, your understanding is completly wrong, The vedas does not talk about caste based on any thing including varna. the enitire veda scripture is lost and only a very few remain.
Hinduism was introduced with these caste based on varna by elites and Raja Gurus who divided the people to establish their supremecy. and caste was primarly based on occupation.
1) Brahman -> people who occupty prist job
2) Khastriya -> PEOPLE who occupied warior job including being Rajas
3) Vysha -> people who were record keepers and adminstrative executives
4) Sudras(and not Dalits) => people who were scavangers who ensured the cleanlyness of the city (which was the noble job but because of their proximity to human waste they were untoucables at those times and not now)

Sounding very knowledgeable on Hinduism Ashok tries to explain Hinduism to someone who he thinks is not a Hindu as if this excuses stripping two dalit girls in public

To sum this up quickly, Hinduism has caste system or not ?

Is it wrong for me if i said ?

Bharma the Great God

1) Brahman was born from Bramhas mouth ?
2) Khastriya was born from arms of Bramha ?
3) Vysha was born from stomach of Bramha ?
4) Shudra was born from feet of Bramha ?

thx

Non Hindu explains what Hinduism is about and should mention that she is discussing with a view to explaining the stripping of two dalits in public

I have also asked, if a White woman or a black african wants to conver to hinduism what would their castes be ?

Can women be priests in Hinduism ?

Asks a question that Indians dont want to answer. Which is a simple no

HINDUSISM in its present form has caste system, but the word caste is no where mentioned in Vedas or Upanishads that are the base of Hinduism

no, its your freedom and there is nothing wrong for you to ask and gain knowledge on some thing you do not know or mis informed off,

this is complete false, this is propagated by some fools.

as the great Swami Vivekananda once told, you don't have to become a Hindu to search/realize for God.
and if a any one from other race want to become a Hindu, they do not need to be part of a caste to become a Hindu as its not a mandatory requirment. All you just need to say is i belive in the Vedas, Upanishad and Gita that is more than enough to you to proclaim yourself as a Hindu

Once again Ashok tries to give an explanation as if this in some way explains away the treatment of two dalit girls being publicly stripped

how many more times will you ask the same question? I have sent you messages and still you ask same question why?

.
As I said earlier......It doesn't matter what the Hindu philosophy is.....since Hinduism is not the state religion of India.

Indian constitution is based on human rights.....not on religious dogmas.....

BUT, there are people of all religions in India....and some of them are bound to be extremists.....and therefore LAWS are there to check this extremism.......unlike Pakistan, where EXTREMISM is the LAW......

Is the Indian constitution based on excluding extremism in Hinduism. And what has Pakistan got to do with the public stripping of two dalit girls??

Ashok is somewhat confused and one of his mates thanks him?? Still no justification of two dalit girls stripping
