I really hope against hope that CPEC partnership between China-Pak does not go the way another much hyped partnrership of the 1960s went. That was the great US-Pak alliance that began with such expectations but eventualy floundered after seeing new vistas open like Tarbela, Mangla Dams, Islamabad new capital city, major military cantonments like Kharian, new industries in Karachi, major investment and take off the green revolution in the countryside etc

Then the dream went sour.
