What they can achieve using the puppet government of Pakistan and unpatriotic, selfish elements within the military, they wont desire to send in their troops into a friendly state (which like it or not it is)... Secondly... Lets suppose they become idiots and attempt such a thing... Well lets just say that America would pay a very heavy price for it... We have no oil that Iraq has... Further, the number of U.S. troops right now in Afghanistan is fairly low. As of May, it was approx. 94,000, and a large proportion of those are support and aid workers, not front-line troops.

The U.S. Army has 548,000 on active duty. The Marines: 203,000. Ignoring the Air Force completely, there is only a fraction available in Afghanistan, making large-scale offensive operations impossible. The heavy armored units are not in place, as that is not the type of war being fought.

Long before there could be any thought of a theoretical invasion, there'd be a visible buildup that would take months.

We are delivering food to flood victims, and hardware to Pakistan's armed forces. A nation normally does not arm an opponent as a prelude to invasion.

The United States is single largest aid donor to Pakistan. Every year, Pakistan receives billions of dollars worth economic aid and military supplies from the United States. If U.S. really wants to invade Pakistan, then why all the aid in the first place?

Besides, even if the U.S. actually annihilates Pakistan, then India won't be looking to purchase billions of dollars worth American weapons anymore. Everybody is aware that the U.S. strategy is to donate $2 billion worth weapons to Pakistan and get $12 billion worth weapons orders from India.

But on the factual side, US is not gonna invade PAk. Yet it will achieve its own objectives like it did with Osama raid. Send in troops and take down the ones on hitlist. Send in mercenaries more often and in more number.

ISI bosses might be under the hitlist as well, whoever are supporting the terrorists.

IF US wants? It can make a deal with Iran in no time untill it achieves its objectives in pak.US is known for changing colours, so dont be surprised.

It will be more of a non-conventional war against pak rather than normal invasion tactics.

Just look at your immediate neighbourhood,who will support you other than China in case of a war?

Can China-Pak alone fight against the allied nations under the US commanding lead?
Might take the same fate of Nazi Germany and Japan. Atleast during those time Germany and Japan were much more powerfull than what China-Pak in relative terms.

Today,Terrorism is a big cancer spreading the nations while originating from PAkistan. I dont think any nation who want to support for a good cause will side Sino-Pak during a hypothetical war scenario.
