Invasion of India: Doc

It is Pakistani Punjab, duh.

But it is worth watching if you are a fan of history.

I know most of you bhartis will never get the chance to see the area, so I posted this video.

ok. i am currently in a remote part of india which has low signal. so this could take a while

A duel of two of the greatest civilizations (Indian Dharmic and Greek) ever.

Great match up and Alexander had to go back after steam rolling over what later became Islamic lands.

the best part was when all the indian states set aside their regional rivalries and faced against a single enemy.
The next and probably the last time that happened was in the Battle of Bahraich when 17 Hindu kshatriya rulers formed a grand alliance to oppose and defeat the invader, "Ghazi" Salar Masud Gazni.

p.s.: that was shameful of the other king, Ambi, who ruled over Taxila and the region between Jhelum and Sindhu to give up without a fight. The glorification of outside invaders is never a good thing

Hahaha this is hilarious.

He indeed was Hindu Punjabi king who ruled modern day Pakistan. But then again most of our ancient Vedic civilisation is in present day Pakistan as well and so is river Indus which India gets it's name from.

Contradicting thing is that people who think Muhammad Bin Kasim was a hero also thinks Porus was a hero. looool They're completely opposite of each other? Porus didn't surrender to Alexander the great. Do you think he would have surrendered to some tiny invader from Arabia?

I would suggest watching this.

Our esteemed member Rafi is from this area.

I do not see what inaccuracies are you talking about. One this is the site of the battle field is according to many is not jajalpur..

The identification of the battle site near modern Jalalpur/Haranpur is certainly erroneous, as the river, in the ancient times, meandered far from these cities. - Pierre Herman Leonard Eggermont
But it is in Punjab province, Pakistan(Mong), what is the inaccuracy?

They were showing boats that Alexander did use.

I'm going to trust the general on this as there are no islands further down or up on the river.

According to many, there have been some geographical changes from that time, the rivers did change course, how can you be sure? What was present then is the same which is present now?

Sadaa Sohna Pakistani Punjab :pakistan:

Porus and Manga would be proud of Pakistan and it's achievements today.

Porus, the great mighty Hindu king!

Correction the Great Pakistani Punjabi King, his religion is irrelevant and not important, for all you know he could have been Buddhist or even an Atheist.

His religion defined him. Raja Purushottam , nothing to do with Islam and therefor nothing to do with Pakistan.

He was from Yaduvanshi dynasty. No question at all that he was a Hindu.

Reign 340–317 BC
Birthplace unknown
Died 317 BC
Place of death Punjab region
Successor Malayketu (Porus' son)
Royal House Paurava Puru Dynasty Yaduvanshi
Religious beliefs Hinduism

I repeat his religion is irrelevant, he comes from my region - so he belongs to my people, I am a direct descendant of one of his cavalry commanders. He is the quintessential Jhelumni. :pakistan:

Even "Arab" "Arayans" want to claim Indian history now! ;)

Not indian history, it happened on my land, so it is Pakistani history.
