Your questions are already prejudiced and accusatory without you even knowing whether what you are asking is actually true or not. But still, i'll give my opinion.

1) Hezbollah is an ally of Iran and whether you like it or not, it is a part of the Lebanese establishment and is a legitimate actor in Lebanese politics.
2) Iran does not have any access to Houthi territory in Yemen so why do you claim Iran is 'funding them' when there is no proof?
3) Syria and Iraq are both in civil war and Iran is siding with its allies there just as every other foreign country is "interfering" in the same way so this is not unique to Iran.
4) Sunnis in Iran are never attacked and murdered in the streets like religious minorities are on a regular basis in Arab countries. 100s of thousands of Christians have fled Arab countries in just the past 10 years, even before the civil wars in Syria and Iraq happened.
5) Every country in the Middle East except for the weakest three (Lebanon, Yemen, Oman) interferes in Mid East conflicts.
6) Ordinary Iranians honestly dont give a f*** about Shi'as vs Sunnis. Islam for Iranians isnt our national identity unlike what it is for many ordinary Arabs who think Sunni Islam and Arabism is the same thing and treat Islam as politics first, religion second.


That was over 40 years ago. There's no Soviet Union today, India is no longer a socialist leaning country, and there is no Communist-phobic Shah that was suspicious of anyone pro-Soviet. So that 'pledge' by him is well and truly void and Iran no longer has any interest in taking sides in South Asian affairs.

No, you dont understand, the Shah did not care about Pakistan. The Shah was paranoid about Communism and the Soviet Union and got scared when Pakistan surrendered to India in 1971. The Shah could not tolerate the possibility of Western Pakistan being either crushed or further weakened by India because India in those days was pro-Soviet while Iran was pro-America. The Shah, like all Iranian regimes throughout history, was fixated on the Middle East and did not want to be troubled on the eastern borders. In the Shah's mind, a severely weakened Pakistan would have posed a security threat to Iran because of Soviet infiltration and ideas being exchanged later on in the 70s between Afghanistan and the Soviet Union to make plans to foment rebellion and break Western Pakistan to create a pro-Soviet state in Pakistani Balouchestan. Such a scenario was unacceptable to the Shah, not because he cared about Pakistan, but because he was scared of the Soviet Union.

The Shah actually wrote diplomatic cables to the US after India defeated Pakistan that have since been published in America criticizing Pakistan for being weak and saying to the Americans how disappointed he was with Pakistan and that he had no faith in their viability as a nation. The Shah was not your 'friend', he was a head of state that was just looking out for his own interests, like any other regime does.
