Despite Russian President Vladimir Putin taking an active interest in ensuring that the aircraft carrier Gorshkov is ready by the end of the year, top level Indian sources fear a further six-month delay.

Flight trials — landing of fighter aircraft on the ship’s deck — started late and will have to be suspended later this month due to the onset of near-Arctic conditions in the Russian north. The trials are then expected to resume when the weather relents, most likely in March next year.

INS Vikramaditya faces further delays | Russia & India Report

The delivery of the aircraft carrier has been delayed by four years

NOW DELAY AGAIN, EVERTHING IS DELAY DELAY AND DELAY

I am gonna say it
Sorry that our AC got delayed thx for showing your concern to this situation

Jus a simple technical question. What kind of CIWS system does the Vikramaditya have, its suppose to be 8 CADS-N-1 Kashtan. But i have problem seeing one single of them on the ship from the pictures and video's i have seen. And i have also read that the ship doesn't come with any CIWS system now and that in 2017 the Indian navy will install a Israeli system some version of the barak missile system. Is that true ?

I think it's the spherical structures, two near the forend, one near the rear, and five of them around the bridge

The troll obviously posted just snippets. India will get the carrier on time, the trials will continue after induction.

Delivery of the INS Vikramaditya, the refurbished aircraft carrier formerly known as the Admiral Gorshkov, is likely to be delayed by another 6 months, The Hindu said on Friday, citing Indian sources. Flight trials started late and will have to be suspended later this month due to the onset of near-Arctic conditions in the Russian north, the paper said, adding that the trials are expected to resume when the weather relents in March, 2013.

Russian sources told the paper that there was a “slight difference in formulation.” The flag-raising ceremony on the gigantic ship will be held on the designated date in December and an Indian crew will start taking over operations, according to the paper. This is what happened with INS Chakra [nuclear powered submarine]. It was given to India two or three months in advance. So when we talk of giving the Gorshkov [now called INS Vikramaditya], it might mean raising the flag and an Indian crew taking over. It won’t reach Indian shores by the end of the year but the crew will be aboard and the official ceremony would have been held,” The Hindu cited the Russian sources as saying.

It would be an insult to Mr Putin if it gets delayed further since he himself is involved.... So The AC will be handed over to Indian crew at due date.
For the thread opener u tried a poor start....... already so many threads on this topic.

This is like death by a thousand cuts。:azn:

who told you ? the one who gave you that 50 cent yesterday ?

Induction is actually just around the corner。No need to wait for 4 more months::woot::toast_sign:

Yet you still can't make your own freaking CV,even with the help of all the people you can possibly lay your hands on,including the Americans, the British, the French, the Russians, the Israelis and so on....

I hear India is about to "start" a flat-top catapult-launch CV.

I am 100000000% sure that many important systems, such as the catapult, will be imported and paid for by India's limited hard currency reserves.

China is embarking on a similar programme, only on a far larger scale in terms of tonnage and all that. No price for guessing China's using her own catapult system, steamed driven or magnetic.

Let time be the witness of all this。

Please send your casino to IOR... we will show it its place

^No one is challenging you for your development plans. India has its own way of building ships according to our current strategy keeping in mind 2012-2020 and long term after 2020- and so on. Delays are part of our system which has always cost us a lot.

China's requirement for higher tonnage, more offensive power is due to vast area it has to cover, Pacific, IOR etc. China is now pursuing Super power dream in Naval front too, while India is more focused in Gulf, eastern Africa, Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, IOR, small island nations etc. You can't expect us to build 100,000 tonne nuclear powered ACC in first try.

CATOBAR is on table for future ACCs, but for IAC-1 and IAC-2, I don't think so. What's wrong in importing this technology ? You also imported many things and reverse engineered it. We are talking about Defense not contesting for an Ethics Prize.
