Induction of CM-400 AKG Confirmed

Had they decided in 2014 about changes for fuel it would have been acheived by 2020
From start going for Light fighter wasn't good idea, same plane bigger with AL-31 power plant would have retired us of all worries we face today.
Perhaps we were thinking to replace F-7 with JFT and increasing number of F-16,which has backfired.

Anyone with some experience in aerospace and defense industry, will tell you cost and weight class are directly related

Paf wanted light multi role fighter which can be mass produced in numbers and be backbone of the fleet

And end of story , no need for drama

Cheers

But it is severely under armed if it carries 3 fuel tanks only 4 HPs are left.

Firstly 3 drop tanks are not a must and I have seen JFT with a single central drop tank. With IFR there is no necessity for 3 droptanks in war. Secondly your Air force has designed a plane BASED ON ITS REQUIREMENTS, what are your credentials to imply that this choice was wrong? Thirdly if you can simultaneously attack only 2 (Radar limitation in Block 1/2) planes why do you need 6-8 hardpoints? Now that you have the capacity to engage 4 targets simultaneously , surely you will see either increasing of hardpoints or DER for BVRs.
Please remember that you have got a LIGHT attack plane. you are not going to use it as a bomb truck. When the adversary's FOBs are within300 mile range why do yo u think we will need a bomb truck? For deep strike we wll use our CM arsenal and only and only once enemy defence systems are compromised will we go in with our air arm. This is standard operating protocol.

JF-17s don't need to carry drop tanks if they can connect with the tanker after taking off with a full load like US carrier jets often do. PAF designed the JF-17 to fulfill PAF's basic air defence requirements along with a stand off capability for anti-shipping etc. When we get overly critical we tend to forget the core objective for which the JF-17 was designed..and it fulfills that role at a fraction of the cost of other fighters.

There is a strong group within PAF from day first how don't want war with India even Asghar Khan informed his counterpart regarding plans of P.A.

They don't want to induct those system which we can use to attack India, they only want defensive equipment so that P.A can'r force air force to attack India along with them.

This is something MK would say.

Bhai.
This is no longer a case of attacking India. We have always had a defensive stance but lately the belligerence of our neighbour indicates we will be pushed into a war irrespective. However 27/02 was a window into what happens if IAF invites a counter attack from PAF. So our response did not indicate we do not want war primarily as we could have simply ignored their forays into our land.

But still I am holding my point, Even US thinks the same and that is why they are holding back our Zulus until India gets their Apache.

Jf out ranges f-7 and mirages due to better fuel consumption of engine and internal capacity so no comparison

It was stated the block 3 adopted dual seater arrangement of internal fuel tanks plus the displaced fuel tank of dual seater is also back in single seater so block 3 internal capacity is more than block 1/2

Not sure how much but another 300-500 kg would be great bringing total capacity around 2600 plus-2800 kg which means fuel fraction would be above .30 pretty impressive for light fighter

Anyway with that improvement if true than single centerline drop tank to extend range by 100 plus miles and weapons load on all other stations would be enough unless additional stations are also included in block 3 beyond one know for pod ??

Cheers

It will have a different name completely. AKG is used for ground attack missiles in Chinese inventory. It wouldn't be called AKG at all is what I'm trying to say.

The CM-400AKG is an air-launched supersonic surface attack cruise missile, believed to be the export version of the YJ-12. The 910 kg (2,000 lb) missile is 0.4 m (1.3 ft) in diameter and has a range of between 54–130 nmi (62–150 mi; 100–241 km) while carrying either a 150 kg (330 lb) blast or 200 kg (440 lb) penetration warhead. It has three guidance options, including inertial navigation system (INS) coupled with satellite positioning to get within 50 m, an onboard IR/TV seeker for terminal guidance and 5 m accuracy, and passive radar to supplement the seeker, which delivers (strangely worse) 5–10 m accuracy. One unusual characteristic is that it does not fly at low altitude to avoid detection, but rather uses “high altitude launching” to achieve “higher aircraft survivability.” It may have a top speed of Mach 5.

CM-400AKG is unrelated to the YJ-12, full stop. Whoever wrote that junk of a Wikipedia article deserves to be shot.

Where would have u found that engine??
You had one??
Second Cost ?
We couldn't afford jf17 and is on credit ..that engine Cost is twice

The place from where we have found Rd-93.
According to deagel cost of Al-31F was 3.5 million USD at same time when RD unit was around 3 million.
Who says that,JFT is on credit?
