Indonesia, Turkey team up to develop military drones

. .
I actually tought Akıncı project was all about reaching 40.000 feet with plus more payload capacity.

I also supposed that The cooperation would be over Akinci when I saw 40000ft altitude request but Officials said It will be Anka. It is also possible Cooperation may be based on Anka-2 drones, since Anka-S have an altitude performance of 30000ft. Instead of re-designing Anka-S, Anka-2 drone which is in its detail design phase may be transferred for Indonesia. Twin PD-170 engine with 750kg max payload capacity. Those engines will be able to power up this drone up to 40000ft altitude.

Next step, turbofan powered UCAV ?

Wulung was jointly developed by PT.DI, Indonesia's Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), and Research and Development of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia.

PT DI's Wulung UAV is designed to perform intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. It has a operational range of 100km at a maximum height of 5,500 feet. Wulung has a maximum payload of 125 kg, has a fuel tank capacity of 35 liters, using a 22 Hp single- piston engine.

The Wulung is equipped with high definition day and night IR camera allowing it to take pictures and videos. It features autopilot capabilities and uses a modular composite structure, space wide access and quick and easy assembly technologies.
Bro, to be honest, it has very small camera, for that reason it will need to come down to see the ground targets.. If you put a regular camera system there, it will not be able to put any weapon, because bigger camera system will take that 55kg space.
on the other hand, 5500 feet is very danger attitude, as oerlikon type of low attitude weapons can reach 4000 meters high...(which is almost 6500 feet) it will be very useful to help artillery systems but Indonesia is big and strong country and their main opposition is China in the future. Thats why i am happy that the government took the right decision.
40000feet UAV is not even for sale in the world... plus, which can shoot missiles... It will make Indonesia very strong compare to other countries... Most of the radars cannot even detect it with their camera and will accept it as a bird i guess

What about this one..

ANKA-TP (SIHA- Strategic Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)
A 5+ ton, turbo-prop powered, High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) version of the ANKA is also being planned.

TAI officials have announced that the Strategic Unmanned Aerial Vehicle version named ANKA-TP will feature a new mission computer, airframe and have the ability to carry between 1 and 1.5 Tons in armament. It will have a span of 23 meters, speed of between 200 and 250 knots and a cruising altitude of 40,000+ ft.

Also bro i hear that there are some issues about kfx project as Indonesia didn't pay its part in 2017 and Korea company who is responsible, has financial issues. Is that true? Thats why i said..

There was mis-administration in MOD part. Don't know how but they didn't allocate the budget for IFX/KFX in 2017 until October, then asked for more budget for the IFX/KFX program but MOF refused, since it was to late. But the commitment to continue the program is strong.

Sorry is this not Malaysian General ?
That certainly not Indonesian general..

Today, they're mostly used for border patrol and not some high profile, high risk mission. We only share land border with Malaysia, Timor Leste and New Guinea.. so there're no immediate dangers operating those low tech UAV.

The move to introduce high altitude UAV with attack capability indeed hinted the shift in threat perception around Indonesia. With south china sea getting more volatile and ISIS waging war in southern Philippines city of Marawi. Indonesia needs to ramp up our game.

Israel have similar design and is operational, indians are not very good in aviation...
even I nag Indian all the time, but in this case, India is far ahead to Turkey in aviation industry````at least they have been trying to develop a fighter jet which Turkey can only dream of``

where is Indian MALE UAV - UCAV ? India can only dream of
even India can not develop targeting and jamming pods
and Sukhoi/HAL FGFA and AMCA projects are still on paper

and HAL TEJAS sucks , India buys more MIG-29s for Indian Navy Aircraft Carrier project

on the other hand Turkey has more Aviation projects than India with superior quality

TURKISH AIRSPACE INDUSTRIES PROJECTS

-- TAI T-129 Attack Helicopter in service
-- TAI ANKA MALE UAV-UCAV in service
-- TAI HURKUS Trainer and light attack Aircraft

-- TAI TFX 5th gen stealth Fighter Jet .... first flight 2023
-- TAI HURJET Trainer and close air support Fighter Jet .... first flight 2022
-- TAI T-625 6 ton class Utility Helicopter .... first flight 2018

-- TAI 10 ton class Utility Helicopter Project
-- TAI ATAK-2 Attack Helicopter Project
-- TAI ANKA-2 UAV-UCAV Project
-- TAI AKINCI HALE UAV-UCAV Project

also Turkey ( TAI ) is a global partner of the F35 JSF Program and 10 Turkish Companies produce parts of the F35 including Center Fuselage and F135 Engine

also ASELSAN High technology Projects

-- Self Protection Electronic Warfare Suite ( SPEWS II )
-- ASELPOD Targeting Pod
-- MEHPOD Jamming Pod
-- SOJ Air borne Stand off Jammer
-- KORAL Radar Electronic Warfare System
-- GaN based AESA Radar

also METEKSAN MILDAR Helicopter Fire control Radar

also ENGINE Projects
-- KALE 3500 Turbojet Engine for Cruise Missiles
-- TEI PD-170 170hp Turboprop Engine for UAV
-- TEI TS-1400 1400hp Turboshaft Engine for Helicopters

also TEI and KALE are working on Turbofan Engine for TAI TFX Fighter Jet project

Turkish fighter jet is in development, 1.4b$ is already allocated to TAI (1.3b$) and BAE. Local f16 Aesa radar will be ready next year, TFX's radar shouldn't take long after that. There are many other avionics which we have know how and expertise to build. And most importantly, TAEC (RR and KALE joint venture) will be responsible for the engine.

So that is something not only we dream of but We are taking necessary steps to built with Optimum local content ratio not just Assembly line for Western parts.

.
I haven't seen any payload requirements so far but Anka-S as it is with TEI's new PD-170 engine can satisfy the max 40K feet req.

After flow of even some part of projects, the guy got disappeared.. Indian couldnt even produce the tank and tejas within 30 years.. Even Russia kicked your *** of from Pakfa as you didnt bring anything to the project that Russia cant do..
