Within the scope of TF-X Program, Turkey will become one of the few countries to possess the necessary technologies, engineering infrastructure and production capabilities. Once the engineering activities on all the critical technologies are accomplished (e.g. increased situational awareness, sensor fusion, low observability, weapon bay, …etc), which are needed by a 5th generation (or beyond) jet fighter aircraft.

HürJet

Jet Trainer and Close Air Support Aircraft Development Project

The future military pilots are planned to be trained by HURJET, a Jet Trainer Aircraft developed by Turkish Air Forces, which is replacing T-38. The payload capacity of HURJET Light Attack Aircraft is 3000kg. The aircraft will be armed in the missions like: Armed Forces of friendly and allied nations, Light Attacks, Close Air Support, Border Security, anti-terrorism operations etc..

is there any program that can serve the purpose of building icbm?i mean space program?
turkey obviously aren't going to have one because we all know, but everything should be ready in case the need appears.
specially the rockets, that's a huge step.
i wish pakistan should have same space program too.

Advanced Jet Trainer & Light Attack Aircraft Development (Hürjet) Project

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) has recently launched a project named as “Advanced Jet Trainer & Light Attack Aircraft (Hürjet) Project” on 14th of August 2017. It is aimed to develop a jet trainer and light attack aircraft primarily to meet the needs of Turkish Air Force (TurAF) and international market.

The main aim of the Project is to replace existing TurAF T-38 Trainer Aircraft. Hürjet’s Light Attack configuration will share the role of F-16 Aircraft as Lead-in Fighter Trainer and Close Air Support in the 2020's with its 3000 kg payload. Hürjet is expected to be used for Close Air Support, Red Aircraft and Air Policing (or board security and counterterrorism) missions by Turkey and allied countries.

Main objectives of the project are:

  • Fulfillment of the TurAF’s operational, functional and performance requirements regarding jet trainer and light attack aircraft, by designing and developing an indigenous system utilizing readily available technologies to keep the unit and ownership costs low.
  • Replacement of the current TurAF T-38 fleet, consisting of about 70 aircraft. The production volume may increase depending on the “Light Attack Aircraft” needs of TurAF and/or potential customers.
The maximum speed of Hürjet will be Mach 1.2; the maximum altitude will be 45,000 ft. and it will be equipped with modern flight, mission and training systems.

Turkey to develop heavy armed UAV

Jane's Defence Weekly
28 February 2018

Turkish Defence Minister Nurettin Canikli has provided details of a new 4.5-tonne armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) called Akinci, able to carry four missiles.

In an interview with the Yeni Safak daily on 24 February, Canikli said the Akinci would pave the way for Turkey to develop unmanned combat aircraft starting in 2027 based on the technology acquired.

He also disclosed that a Turkish Defence Industries Executive Committee meeting in January selected local company Baykar Makina to develop the Akinci based on the Bayrak armed UAV.

A contract with Baykar Makina would be signed soon, with Akinci deliveries beginning in 2021, he said.
