What's new

Indonesia executes drug convicts, sparks anger from Australia, Brazil

lol, I meant now...I don't know about the protest in 89', it maybe under the same circumstance... I don't know, or maybe Aussie are more arrogant back then... hehe

well it just a same, everything will goes to normal in month or two. Abbot need some face saving measure, back then before this execution issue appear to the surface, his popularity is all the time very low, now he has regained some supporter. Jokowi is the same too

This issue will not affect bilateral cooperation between two nations significantly. Not to mention, actually Indonesian Air Forces is just received another C-130H hercules, granted by Australian government in February, when this issue at it's peak.

Well, as I said, the AFP is on more of the hot water than the Indonesian government right now, at least a senate hearing is called to make the AFP explain why they did what they did, but our FM does not make much of a move regarding Indonesia beside recalling the ambassador, but that's about it. And this is quite standard too.

Don't believe anything has changed and I believe in the end the blame will felt on the AFP, afterall, your government act on behalf of them in the first place, they are the one ultimately responsible for this, just how the way it goes is what we have to wait and see now

And i kinda feel the same too, every government must protect her/his citizen abroad, is kind of norm for a democratic states/countries. Everyone will do the same, Indonesian is too recently recalled our Ambassador from Saudi Arabia as part of strong protest because of the execution of our citizen in their country. There is nothing wrong about that

I don't know where you heard that a lot of Australia are displeased that Indonesian government, but a lot of Australian are displeased by Indonesian Handling the case (The scenario I mention on my previous post) and the AFP conduct. If I have to say, AFP copped more in this than your government in our media, and I am watching the News in Australia right now, so, well, I don't know if you know anymore than me about how Australian reacted

It's all the same, only a word's play. Complaining this, complaining that. We already give them their judicial right. We give 6 others bali nine member life sentence and one 20years prison. This 2 are ring leader and enforcer. They play a risky game and lose. Be responsible, and face the consequence. Warning are abundance.

Like i said, social media outcry. Check Guardian, Yahoo news, and Jakarta Post, full of Australian butthurt in the comment section. Haha.

okay, you are saying you, in Indonesia, know more about WHAT HAPPENING IN AUSTRALIA RIGHT NOW than me sitting in my home in the suburb of Blacktown NSW Australia, watching Channel 7 News about an hour ago, then please, do go on

it's not really hard to see and check what i said right? go read Guardian publication, and others. SOCIAL MEDIA OUTCRY.

well, there are displeasure, I am not gonna denied that, the problem is, we also need to know this, the whole thing started when an Australian Lawyer go over to the AFP and warn them some Aussie are going to Indonesia and bring back a bunch of drugs back to Australia.

What the AFP do is, they don't act on their own, which they should be, one reason or another, they contacted the Indonesian authority and they made the arrest when the AFP told them, which the AFP themselves are following the Bali 9 too.

Now, if you ask me, as a normal Australian, do I displease about the Indonesian Government?? I do believe in death penalty solve nothing, so I am of course displeased by the Indonesian government, but then did I blame them practicing their law? no.

We are more interest on AFP right now, because we can't touch the Indonesian authority (We can't bring them to Australia for justice....) But we can make whoever oprder the Indonesian Arrest paid for it, hehe

Dude, HOW DO YOU KNOW THOSE CRY OVER THE SOCIAL MEDIA IS AUSTRALIAN?? Because it said so on their profile??

LOL. I am telling you, no Australian Media headline blasting the word "INJUSTICE, INDONESIAN EXECUTED OUR LOVELY CITIZEN"

What is that "haha" comment for? There are over 20 million Aussie and you know how many Aussie cared about those two executed criminal? Maybe only 0.1% of the Aussie population cared and you seem to make it like the whole Aussie population is butthurt.

How do i know, hmm... because they said so. The very same like when you said about you sitting in your home in the suburb of Blacktown NSW Australia, watching Channel 7 News about an hour ago. I don't have any interest or reason to object or denied what you claim.

Did i said Media headline? I said Australian, meaning some Australian citizen running amok on internet news regarding this publication and posting hysterical comments. Thousand of comments.

Why so sensitive, If you are not part of this social media outcry, then good for you. :coffee:

That's why i laugh. It's funny to see small section of Australian society flooding the comment section of related news with their ranting and rambling. Laugh is healty, don't you think?

Well, it's OK to feel confident about yourself/your country and laugh at other people, but just make sure you can back it up if someone later challenge you.

I think I remember one Indonesian member laughed at someone behind his back and said that guy needs to be educated. Then when the Indonesian member got challenged to open a thread for the educational lesson, he backed down and didn't open the thread. ;)

So it's OK to feel confident and laugh at people, but just make sure that you're willing to back it up. :-)

These people were bringing $3.1 million of drugs into their country. And this is the time they were caught, God knows how many times before they had smuggled drugs into the country.

Very true. This is not their first adventure. Part of why one get 20 years sentence, because he/she testify and colaborate with the investigator and tell the truth, that this 2 had forced and coerced them, even threatening to kill the rest 7 members if they dont do this dirty job.

Indonesian Navy blowing up Vietnamese illegal boats was not what we were discussing about.

Our topic was about slavery in the fishing industry, which involves Indonesian victims, and how the Indonesian govt has dealt/is dealing with it.

If you don't want to open a new thread then that's fine, I can't force you. I was just feeling a bit disappointed because I was waiting for the education from you and learn more about the Indonesia situation. That's all.

Heroin is a filthy drug  this will set a deterrence on others in the future.

These people knew the risk and the consequences of their actions, next time do not get involved in smuggling of narcotics.

RIP to their souls and may their families find the peace of mind to heal.

Hey, it's you that need this education, not me. Haha, why should i bothered if you don't want to join. This topic is relevant, since it's full of information and related news about Indonesian fishery industry and it's new policy and it's impact around regional (SEA) region.

Please, don't feel intimidated by the Title. It's not our false, since it's not Indonesian member who create this Topic. We just continue on with related matter. :-)
