Last time i heard... Indian Army was planning to induct M777 howitzer also.

Yes. But those are ultra light howitzers for mountain warfare

If you don't consider manufacturing part for a while... This one can fire 32 KM and M777 Excalibur can fire up to 40 km. Plus its light... so whats the difference. Both are 155 mm artillery piece.

Isn't it wise to have one artillery for all the use?
M777 is light, i understood good for mountain warfare.... but why it isn't good in other areas?

Its good in all terrain. Just light weight.

Look closely at the Howitzer in the pictures. Its fitted with an APU which allows the gun to fire a barrage, then fold its trails and move under its own power (without the Gun-Tractor) to another location within a few KM and extend its trails and get ready to fire again. This 'Shoot and Scoot' ability reduces its vulnerability to 'counter-battery' fire. Which happens to be unique to the FH77.
This ability is absent on the M777 ULH. All that was sacrificed to save weight. So both the Howitzers are rather different by design and ability.

While the FH77 is already in service, and will be augmented by these guns on order; the M777 ULH have benn ordered for the Northern Theater troops.
BTW, operational ranges achieved is a function of both Caliber and Type of Ammo used; which please note.

Exactly but in mountain war-fare you can't "shoot and scoot" because of the obvious reason. In such areas Artys are set on the slopes or some natural cover to avoid anti battery fire. So these size and weight matters. On plain ground it's exactly what you say
