Indigenous 155 mm/45 calibre Dhanush Howitzers Enter Bulk Production

.
Did it pass tests and this is developed by some private company still good development India needs to produce 800 to 1000 of these.

(01) Dhanush had successfully passed evaluation by Indian Army's Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) and the Maintainability Evaluation Trials. It received the Bulk Production Clearance (BPC) from the Army for the first batch of 144 Dhanush guns - Pleased with the performance of the gun, the Army has given strong indications of an additional order for 481 guns.

(02) It has been developed by OFB - The one you are talking about are the Kalyani Group's indigenously developed long-range 155mm/52 calibre “Bharat-52″ Gun and ultra-light Garuda 105 - they will be tested shortly in the Army field range and if ordered by Indian Army can enter production withing one month as claimed.

I can smell some serious kickbacks here for GOD sake one Gun a month the number should be at least 5. It's not even SP Gun.

Alongside serial production - OFB is also currently upgrading its manufacturing line for bulk production at Jabalpur Gun Carriage Factory side by side which will be completed by 2016, wherein it will be able to produce some 30-35 guns every year.

So when will the serial production start.

It has already started @1 howitzer per month.

That is the only thing that is important now. Eventually, people will gain experience & come up with enhancements. To expect them to produce their own miracle from scratch is a bit of a unreal ask.
moreover to expect that from the likes of our psu,,,,well.

Well than it's more questionable a government company can only produce one Artillery Gun a month

They can produce a lot more,my brother. It's for the first few months only, eventually the rate will be increased to over a 100 guns a year. And there isn't that dire need to increase the rate either since the order,in all likelihood, will be limited to 414 units as the Army wants L/52 guns and hopefully the ARDE ATAGS will be ready for production by then.

No it is usual marketing trick by Baba Kalyani. In case he is asked to supply at 01 piece a day, he will ask for huge confirm order. Then he will cite initial teething problem. And quality for sure will get the backseat. In fact, if we get a huge order to even OFB, they shall deliver.

Than impose heavy penalty. he has offered one gun alternate day. If he can offer one gun every 5 days even thougn we shall have 73 guns a year. it is 6 time more than what OFB has offered.

thats right their are provissions of penalty deu to late diliverry of any product to goverment by private companies so that wont be changed here aswell onli relaxtaion bieng they will be given 3-6 months grace for the first batch so the production capacity comes to steam before churning owt arty guns like sausages ;)

BS. When Baba kalyani offers 1 gun each alternate day, these fools offers 36 guns in 24 months. Pathetic. It is the time to kick their Back. Go for TATA or BABA Kalyani gun.
then who will feed the children of DRDO !

Tata and Kalyani are just presenting foreign candies in desi package.
how much indigenous is Desi Bofors ?

Given that we have already paid for total ToT decade back, and also acknowledging that DRDO made further modifications over it from the original blueprint without consulting the original vendor, I'd say pretty much.

The main thing is, we won't have to depend on the original developer for any tech upgrade or modification. In case of Tata and Kalyani, with their limited knowledge and experience, it'd be impossible for them to carry on any upgrade or modification on their own.

You cannot start full fledged production from the very start of it even if you have a large contract, a trial run production for tuning up the assembly line is necessary. Even though I agree OFB is little slow, but with adequate contract and pressure from the armed forces, the speed of production can be increased.

Another point is, private entities can increase their labor force to increase production rate, while government entity face a huge drawback in this case. As they cannot sack the employee once the contract duration is over. So OFB will have to implement efficient method to increase production without hiring large number of manpower.
