Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today claimed the Indian government's repeated declaration that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of its territory reflected its "lack of sincerity" to resolve the "core issue".

Sharif made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference at Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir).

He expressed his "dismay at the contradictory stance" taken by the Indian government in addressing the "core issue" of Kashmir, said a statement issued by the Prime Minister's House.

The Indian government's repeated declaration that Kashmir is an integral part of its territory "despite UN resolutions on the subject shows its lack of sincerity to resolve the matter", he claimed.

Kashmir is a longstanding issue and must be settled in accordance with UN resolutions. "I have raised the issue with US President Barack Obama and he also agreed in principle that the issue should be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions," Sharif told the Hurriyat delegation.

"You have already seen our commitment to the issue in the past and it is our deep desire that the issue should be taken forward towards its resolution in accordance with the desires of the Kashmiri people."

The statement quoted Sharif as saying that he had a dream of seeing Kashmir "free from the Indian occupation and desired that this dream could turn into reality during his life time".

Earlier in the day, while addressing the Azad Kashmir Council, Sharif said the Kashmir issue should be settled according to UN resolutions and the aspirations of Kashmiris to ensure peace in the region.

Referring to Pakistan-India ties, Sharif claimed it was India which indulged in an arms race. "We were drawn into the arms race by India," he said.

However, he expressed satisfaction that the situation on the Line of Control had improved.

Sharif asked the Kashmiri leadership to offer proposals for expediting the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He also asked the world community to play its role in settling the issue.

Of course ....NS has to make this kind of statements so that he has to make his own politics....

At last Pakistan realized the truth.

India need to end the occupation of Kashmir. So many have been killed in the hands of 2nd hand Indian imperialism. The world need to demand that India leave Kashmir to the will of Kashmiris. And stop this 2nd hand imperialism.

OK PM sahib.

We heard you.

We respect you.

Now lets get on with developing our country.

Kashmir is not going anywhere.

But our country is.

---- Yes. Our country our beautiful country, speeding down hill into economic morass.

Yee Loo bhai.... UN resolution matlab unilateral removal of all pakistani soldiers and militia from Pre conflict borders of 1947 that includes Pakistan occ Kashmir..... Looks like P.M. sharif needs some education

UN security council resolutions pre requisite is unilateral withdrawal of all pakistani forces, why would your P.M. propose that?

Of course ....NS has to make this kind of statements so that he has to make his own politics....
Un security councils resolutions work in India's favor, this would be a good move for India

Sandy Yaara.

You are a smart man.

Just let it be.

Even if Pak army withdraws, Indian army will not.

Let's be realistic.

Let's move on.

Its time we quit jabbing each other. And if one side does, the other side should let it be.

Thank you

Although we should design our Kashmir policy according to our interest we should also acknowledge that India can swallow up Kashmir very easily. The Kashmiri population is approximately 7 million on the Indian side. The total Indian population is 1.1 Billion. So Kashmir can easily be swallowed up by India regardless of the will of the local people.

On the other hand we Pakistanis must take a firm stand on Kashmir and not back down.

Both army's are disproportionate to the need of the nations they represent, when you build a big smart hammer, it will constantly look for a nail... None of the nations will let an inch slip through, the point remain most commentators and leaders havent even read the UN security council's resolution on kashmir... they just think it's a nuetral piece of paper, it's Not!

Pakistan is already taking firm stand about Kashmir since 1947....As long as Pakistan is in war with India, there is no way any physical boundary of both India and Pakistan can be changed....That is the only option that left out for Pakistan to get Kashmir?...But the question is that Will Pakistan go for the War?

And thus being such area conflict, there are provisions made to give J&K to avoid the same, are there any such provisions in Pakistan?

As I said earlier.

Let it be.

If India was that hot and heavy on UN resolution, it could always go back there, just like PM Nehru ran to UN.

So my dear.

It is not that straight forward.

Thank you
