Indian military personnel surrendered individually.. happens in every war. It's not dishonourable if you have tried.
Pakistani nation surrendered in-toto. Now that is a very rare occurrence ( but again not dishonourable since you tried till no hope left).

I am sorry, India simply cannot match China in a conventional war so all this stupid posturing can only lead to trouble. I don't doubt the valor of our Jawans but we are behind the Chinese in terms of technology, movement of troops, and every conceivable economic leverage. Instead we should be somewhat sucking up to the Chinese like the Thai's or Vietnamese do. As a matter of fact, there will be far less sucking involved compared to what we already do to the United States or other NATO countries. Right now Dolan Trump of America says "Jump" and Modi squeals: "how high?"

It's better for India to pick on/bully countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives etc. After we gain that experience, perhaps we could aim for Pakistan, that too only if we had a ballsy Field Marshal like Maneckshaw.

In 1962, individual units were over-run. The war ended with a cease-fire, not a surrender.

The eastern sector is stable ,we have moved up lot of armour in ladakh and sikkim.Operationalized the mountain strike corps.Huge amounts of infrastructure have been built/are being built in last 4-5 years.Airstrips have been reactivated,assets dispersed.Tunnels are being built in mountains to store ammo without risk of preemptive strike.Our helicopter airlift ability is also much better with chinooks and growing numbers.The new light artillery guns are a very nice addition.New hardened shelters are being built in airbases able to withstand SRBM strikes.Brahmos regiment has been deployed.Overall chinese army has also been heavily downsized due to their focus on the pacific,we actually outnumber them now.Once rafales and S-400 arrive we will seal the area up.The last lacuna is the deployment of our own conventional use SRBMs which is coming.Agni-5 induction and the coming newer K4 equipped SSBNs will complete strategic deterrence posture.So there will be no real trouble in the east for some time.Eastern front is all quiet.
