Do you want a slap?
I will give a big slap sirgo ahead ..newbie..
You people are looking at this in the wrong way. I understand the immediate, kneejerk reaction to defend our country and culture, but you should look at this from a different, more mature perspective. Introspection is the key word here. Nobody is "jealous" of our "success". Btw, what success do you speak of, anyway?India has global influence.Look at the publicity during PM Modi swearing ceremoney.Almost all international media is reported that historic event .Live airing in BBC etc.
All this gave a good image to India. But some western nations cant digest our success

India has aspirations to be a global power. And with that comes great responsibility to showcase our country as a good model to become worthy of that stature. If we don't change our inherent attitude towards the weaker sections of the society in general and women in particular, no one in the world will ever respect us. Doesn't matter if you are a military super power or an economic super power. Similar to what Frank Pantangeli tells Michael Corleone in Godfather II, the rest of the world will do business with us, they will praise our development, but they will NEVER respect us for what we are, unless we hold ourselves to higher moral and other standards!!
Retarded post.gals shud nt move in shrt skrts imo , , if dis attitude f hrny indian men remain sam3 , , , , bad tym ahed !
No It's not justification at all. It's about exposing the hypocrisy of the Americans. Should they preach to others when they themselves have one of the worst rights abuses in the world?is it some sort of a justification to rapes in india ...
Of course US is one of those countries with high rates of rapes per 100K people. But you also need to realize that the conviction and punishment rates for such horrendous crimes is also high in US. Compare that to the conviction rates in India.Read my earlier posts.I already agreed with you.But the disgusting fact is intererfering of US in this matter.UN Okay. But who are they to advice us?.
Whole world know US own situation in their country.

The outrage expressed by US and other countries also includes our excuses for such crimes such as 'boys will be boys' and 'girls wearing revealing provocative dresses' etc and our dismal arrest and conviction records. We have the laws, why don't we protest and force authorities to enforce them, instead of protesting and demanding for newer laws!!?
You shouldn't look at "who are they to advice us" but rather look at the problem from "what is wrong with us that many countries are blaming us". Remember that we aspire to become a global power and as such we need to hold ourselves accountable to much much higher standards.
Those who criticise must also check their own records.
A man kidnapped 3 girls and made them slave for 20 years and torture them .One of the lady also gave birth to one child. And technologically advanced US police got them after that lady complained their plight to their next neighbours ,when the culript was away from themand that was also the lucky.
US police seems to the best in the world cant find these poor girls for years.
And no one in US dont even care about a protest.
May that maniac get punishment. But what will the US authorities response for fatal destruction of that girls life?.
You very well know about the regular shooting incident in US.
Last year a teenage guy ,below 18, stole a assault rifle from his mother armoury and shoot poor innocent school kids.A government with good sense will prohibit the usage of assault rifles by the civilians .A pistol is Ok.But M16 assault rifle used for war it is unbelivable. That mother was also a teacher.
But great US govt and its President a very good solution.
Arming school teachers with guns. What a nice idea.
And we dont see a protest from the US over that.So virtually a school for A,B,C,D and 123 become a living place of Glock pistols and may assault rifles.
I have doubt whether this is the developed world.
Sorry I am not making score points.
All that incidents are unfortunate.
But dont generalize whole India with some cases in UP.
If UP select criminal SP party then it is their choice. And their local leaders will always like that.Their development shows that.
We dont see such situation in South India.
