If you ask me, if I know Chinese culture, well. I barely scratched the surface. But according to what I read, Chinese culture, as it was, ended with cultural revolution.
And most of the old temples are either destroyed or left out, without much maintenance.
What you see in those pictures are skeleton of what was once a 5000 year old culture. The efforts to put them back is very good. But I'm pessimistic about the results.

Waste of food is a common problem everywhere, and it won't cover the incompetency of your government for exporting lifesaving food to other countries, let your people starve and spend the money to purchase weapons...
