Indians to outnumber Chinese in 2025: US

BigTree.CN said:
China is overpopulated, but China has been curbing the population problem by introducing the one child policy for a long time because China realized the catactrophic consequence of an exploding population.

India is overpopulated, but it is unwilling to take actions to control it, because India is an irresponsible country.

A shortage of resources within India caused by your uncontrolled population is highly likely to lead to an adventurism of invading countries bordering on India, such as China, Pakistan, Nepal, etc. Such logic can be applied to any country, including China.

Ok you're just a troll

Absolutely right.

Again to all Chinese posters.

Repeat after me "A fertility rate of 2.1 means a stable population ".
Write it down.

And no Pakistan with a crazy fertility rate of 4 doesn't make it an ideal country to "invade"

And again western China is barren wasteland, so NO we don't want it

Lastly a repost
@Chinese people who going on about India having not enough land so support its people. I'll summarize some points

Check this out

Country Arableland(km2)↓ (%)

1.United States: 1,650,062 18.01%
2.India : 1,451,810 48.83%
3.China :1,385,905 14.86%

Not really, most of China is frigid/arid wasteland, good for mining minerals but not suitable for human habitation.

Only coastal China is habitable. This picture will give a better representation

Map of world percentage arable land.

(it's a topographical map)

I hope you got the point :coffee:

India is overpopulated, but it is unwilling to take actions to control it, because India is an irresponsible country.

no. because india is expansionist.

Aeon has already said:

??

India wants to rule the world?!

indians think in terms of centuries, they are much more cunning than what you guys estimate. they have already exported a huge number of their population to all the countries to create sizable indian community there who can slowly influence the concerned country's leadership and foreign policies and thereby make that country another hindustan.

Agricultural output by country:

1 China 520,352
— European Union 312,498
2 India 210,116
3 United States 171,075
4 Brazil 96,016
5 Japan 81,089
6 Russia 57,774
7 Spain 48,313
8 France 48,167
9 Australia 40,885
10 Italy 38,129

Agriculture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So even though India has slightly more arable land than China (4% more)... China's agricultural output is more than double that of India.

And I wonder how much of this food goes to waste in India, due to inefficient infrastructure?

"Uncontrolled population" equals "shortage of resources" ? Since when? :what: India has the resources to handle its current population. It is self sufficient. Any gradual growth in population can be used to our nation's advantage if managed and prepared for well by our policymakers. Until then, fret not. India doesnt have an expansionist policy and certainly has no need for one in the future

Do you people have any clue of what you're talking about?

Once India reaches a fertility rate of 2.1 the population will become stable (it's 2.6 now and decreasing fast)

First, the fertility rate is not decreasing that fast. And there is no guarantee that the fertitity rate will drop to 2.1 considering Indian government is actually sitting idle when it comes to population control issue.

Second, a decreasing fertility rate does not mean a stable population. For a country with such a large population, the stability of population always lags behind the stability of fertitity rate.

India has more arable land than China :coffee:

Food is not the only factor that should be considered here. Water, space, oil, metal, etc, all of these are gonna be deficient in India.

yeah Agriculture here isn't completely mechanized yet...it's a well know fact :coffee:

That is your presumption. India is a 63 year old country and it has not invaded any of your neighbours yet. But your mind is already prejudiced against India. Therefore you are unable to see the ground realities.

no. because india is expansionist.

Some people just don't get it.

Again you have no clue about what you're talking about. Indian government has launched numerous plans to curb population growth. It's due to these results that it has a lower fertility rate, (one of the lowest in the subcontinent/South Asia)

Indian states ranking by fertility rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1 Andhra Pradesh 1.8
1 Goa 1.8
1 Tamil Nadu 1.8
2 Himachal Pradesh 1.9
2 Kerala 1.9
3 Punjab 2
3 Sikkim 2
4 Karnataka 2.1
4 Maharashtra 2.1
5 Tripura 2.2
6 West Bengal 2.3
7 Assam 2.4
7 Gujarat 2.4
7 Jammu and Kashmir 2.4
7 Orissa 2.4
8 Chattisgarh 2.6
8 Uttarakhand 2.6
- Whole INDIA 2.6
9 Haryana 2.7
10 Manipur 2.8
11 Mizoram 2.9
12 Arunachal Pradesh 3
13 Madhya Pradesh 3.1
14 Rajasthan 3.2
15 Jharkhand 3.3
16 Nagaland 3.7
17 Meghalaya 3.8
17 Uttar Pradesh 3.8
18 Bihar 4

This means all of South India (which is more developed) already has a fertility rate lower than 2

States 17 and 18 has the most underdeveloped states in India (and have highest population desities too). However recently state number 18 has been growing with a GDP of 11%. Increase in welath, decrease in fertility rate

Second, a decreasing fertility rate does not mean a stable population. For a country with such a large population, the stability of population always lags behind the stability of fertitity rate.

I KNOW hence I quoted 2.1. This is the magic number

I am talking about India as a whole, a handful of states doing well means nothing in this regard.

He's taking about more than 50% of the country. (I'm saying in fertility rate terms)

Exactly CD, whats the use of having more usable land when half of your population cannot benifit from it, still living in poverty and hunger, money need to develop the so-called usable land is allocated to weapons purchasing instead?
However regarding China or India being labeled as overpopulated, fact was not as bad as people thought.
Here are the top-10 most populated countries:

talk on population control can very quickly sound like nazi ideology.

i find indian views intriguing on this, at times disturbing.

one point to note, the west manages to control its population in more sophisticated ways.

the institution of marriage is dead or dying, religion is dead or dying, extreme feminism is ruling, gays are ruling, people are no longer having children.....etc etc

the above is slowly happening in india
