Now this is idiotic. When did India took part in cold war? India was strong enough to avoid those overtures. We were founding members of NAM, you better read the history again.

BF you speak with a lot of wisdom i must say. That sums up in a few lines what India's about. Indian also moved away from Russia in 90s after all the support the Russians had given to this ungrateful lot, India must give its people the right to self determination and give birth to 30 plus nations so we can have harmony in the neighbourhood

I am not convinced simply because I think even during the cold war the US was mightier then then the Soviets and transfer of sophisticated military hardware to PakMil alone would have guaranteed Pakistan's upper hand especially if PAF were to achieve total air dominance over IAF. USA did not really have any real interest in the region at that precise moment.
