Doc,were you a Jamshedpurian??Where in Jamshedpur??

First half of my boyhood in Dhatkidih (KD Flats).

Later half (till I left after my 12th) in Circuit House Area.

Young daughter was in Dhatkidih. Damn I can't remember her name (only some images).

Durga Puja was a lot more colorful and bigger there than Ganesh Puja is in Maharashtra. Though both are really big.

Dhatkidih,that's great,my maternal family was from Jugsulai,the Govt. quarters near the old railway bridge next to the station.I was born in Jamshedpur just like my mom at the Tata Main Hospital.My family is now living in Kagalnagar near Sonari although some of my family live in Sakchi area.So that makes us some sort of relatives,isn't itP

Same here,although now it would rather be Jharkhandi.Anyways,good to have a senior brother from the place of my birth.Btw have you been to Jamshedpur lately??It's changing by the each passing day,everything is getting developed at a rapid pace.In the next few years you won't be able to recognize Jamshedpur,i must admit that the Jharkhand Govt. is really doing a great job when it comes to the development of Jamshedpur

The reason I am crying is that I have not been able to go back after 2004.

The last time i visited Jamshedpur it was in 2013.Off late i was a bit busy regarding my civil service exam and hence didn't get the time to visit my favorite city outside Kolkata.Doc,if you ever plan to visit Jamshedpur just let me know i will also go there at the same time and together we can go on an adventure at the Dalma hills(i have heard that leopards have recently been spotted there)P

Yup,elephants were always a part of the Dalma Hill forest but recently there were some reports that leopards have been spotted there by the local villagers,i know this because one of my uncle's friend works in the Jharkhand Forest Service.

Did I mention to you two slobs that my first job was with the Indian Tube Co., and we stayed in Nildih when on our training plant visits? Sarosh Gandhi ran TELCO while Base, Ramesh Bhasin, ran Tubeco, and the steel guys hated us both

  Malayalam actress Sobhana apparently has no idea about the controversial Dadri lynching case and several litterateurs returning prestigious honours, including Sahitya Akademi awards, in protest.
  
  While responding to the media about several writers and poets returning their awards, the acclaimed danseuse asked the reporters, "Which award? And who has returned (them)?"
  
  
  
  
  Some of the journalists pointed out that the awards were returned to protest the murder of Kannada scholar MM Kalburgi by Hindutva activists and lynching of a Muslim man in a Uttar Pradesh village over beef-eating rumours.
  
  
  However, Sobhana said she was not aware of the development and added that she has no intention of returning her awards.
  
  "May be someone has returned the award because they got it late in their life. I am not going to return the award that I got," she said during "Meet the Press" programme at Thiruvananthapuram Press Club.
  
  Several writers across the country, including Malayalam novelist Sarah Joseph, had returned their Sahitya Akademi awards to protest increasing communal violence in India.
