First of all SU-35 is available of IAF, and it was proposed by Russian to India long time ago, but IAF prefer to MKI.
The reason is that the Super Sukhoi Program is due, which will bring various goodies. There is one post by one pakistani member for the difference between MKI and SU-35, but he missed one important Aspect in his comparison that is MKI is a Air Superiority Role fighter plane, and SU-35 is a Strike Fighter.
Super Sukhoi Program, haven't finalized yet but few of the Upgrades are
1. Aesa is confirmed --- whether its N01-Bars Aesa, or Some other AESA, but Bars upgradation is economically better.
2. Internal Jammer -- Vergilus jammer.
3. Upgradation of Mission Computer HAL/Edgewood Mission Computer
4. Upgradation of EW suite -- Design by DARE
5. Airframe Straightening to carry 3 Brahmos Mini
6. Aerial Decoy, and Jammers
7. Engine Upgradation to increase its MTOW
From the above it is confirmed that IAF will go for Super Sukhoi which matches its requirement, and not to SU-35 which is not needed, as Rafale is comming for that Role. Super Sukhoi will provide some Ground Attack Capabilities, and DEAD, and SEAD capabilities. And now purchasing of Su-35 is not a good IDEA when FGFA program is going to happen soon, and India needs to save funds for that.
One Problem I found with the IAF is why don't they order and use Tejas MK 1 trainer, whose console could be modified Mimic the MKI equipments and consoles, for the training purpose, thus it will increase the TBO life of MKI
East or West! Work or Rest! MKI is best! Not even F-22 and F-35 can beat MKI.
MKI is a "vishaal vimaan" that can single handedly destroy all airforces in the world!
After upgrade of MKI to Super-MKI, it will be able to touch International Space Station with its internal fuel storage. And after another uprade, it will be able to beat Voyager Unmanned Intersteller mission of NASA.
Jaye MKI!
