Indian state bans beef, introduces jail time for possession

.
Again slaughtering animals such as goats, cows, lamb etc is mandatory for Muslims if they can afford it (at least once a year). And all of these animals are an important source of food for people (Muslims, Christians, Jews etc).

No rule specifying cows only. Other animals can take their place though as societies evolve, there should be no public spectacle of slaughter.

It may be a source of food, it is not the only source & no rule that people should eat whatever they want.

Worshiping Idols is OFFENSIVE to Christians, Muslims and Jews and therefore forbidden in all of these religions.
But is still tolerated if followers of a particular religion want to practice it. This is called tolerance. But if some country which calls itself "Islamic Republic...", "Christian Republic...", "Jewish Republic..." would ban it, you can understand it. Simply because it is not a secular country.

So now because one majority religion find it offensive and want the other minorities to follow it or face persecution, they are denying the very core of secularism.

Cartoons on the other hand which promote hatred, child pornography or violence on the other hand is a completely different matter, which you can discuss in another thread.

PS. Troll reported.
Worshiping Idols by Hindus is offensive to muslims in Islam or not , I am not talking about what is forbidden or what is not. And as you have mentioned eating one of these animals is mandatory that means you can eat goat. But eating cow is mandatory or not ?

Prophet cartoon issue is no different from the issue of Hindu Goddess pictures on swimming costumes or footwear.

Such things should be avoided.

My point was different. If one takes offense at anything, then they must be open to others taking offense at different things. If they make the argument that such restrictions should only apply to the adherents of the religion specified, then they should be willing to do the same .

Eggs are not Holy in Hinduism. Cow is. So no ban on eggs. Non-hindus can eat as much as eggs they can.

 then why non-Hindus can eat as much beef as we want see you can have a ban on meat/beef for Hindus but why imposing it on non-Hindus

. .

Does freedom of expression means to provocation ?

meat is not equal to beef. Non-muslims can eat as much as goat or porks:omghaha: as they can. But since cow is holy in Hinduism so ban on cow slaughter.

So why do Muslims seek to impose restrictions of non-imagery rules of their religion on non-Muslims? Even in non-Muslim countries? Are you a supporter of the French & Danish cartoonists?
