Indian Navy Ship Induction Plan till 2015

This is the list of ships which are for sure to be inducted into the navy till 2015 (source: wikipedia)

1.) Kamorta Class Corvettes (4) - INS Kamorta, INS Kadmatt, INS Kiltan, INS Kavaratti.

2.) Shivalik Class Frigate (1) - INS Sahyadri.

3.) Kolkata Class Destroyers (3) - INS Kolkata, INS Kochi, INS Chennai.

4.) At least 1 scorpene submarine.

5.) SSBN (2) - INS Arihant, INS Arindham

6.) Aircraft carrier (2) - INS Vikramaditya, INS Vikrant.

7.) Talwar Class Frigate (2) - INS Tarkash, INS Trikand.

These add up to 15 ships, please expand the list if possible also how much Indian Navy ships will retire in the given period?

There are also 2 hydro-graphic survey ships under construction for IN. Additionally I think we can expect at least 1-2 new Minesweepers by 2015 as the first 3-4 will be built in SK and this deal will be signed this FY.

+ Also by the end of this year "Operation Seabird" or Karwar naval base will be fully completed and will become the biggest naval base in Asia. The base has cost something like $2 BN to build but will be able to berth 45-60 warships including IN ACCs. This will also mean the Mumbai naval base can have assets moved away so as to de-congest Mumbai harbor and make sure no incidents like what happened with INS Vindhyagiri happen again.

Mr. Antony talked about Indian Navy getting at least 5 ships every year from now on. Also he said Navy will get 7 ships this fiscal.So the number of ships should be more than 20 till 2015, which are the other ships we are inducting to account for the difference?

+note that these only relate to major vessels and not the 100s of smaller patrol boats and FIC the IN is also procuring and will recieve in the next 1-3 years.

As per this article (Indian Navy to Get South Korean Minesweepers in its Fleet) we will get the first two minesweepers only in 2016 with complete 8 till 2018.

I've heard the first vessel will be delivered by Q4 2015 easily, second one is 50/50 before 2015- most likely Q1/2 2016.

Defence News - India To Buy Four Large Amphibious Ships, Air Tankers

A contract has been concluded with M/s GRSE, Kolkata, in September, 2011 for construction of eight Landing Craft, Utility. These ships are likely to be inducted in the Indian Navy during 2013-15.

Defence Acquisition Council has accorded Acceptance of Necessity for induction of four large amphibious ships. Induction of these ships would help to enhance the amphibious lift capability of the Indian Armed Forces. The capability would also be useful for assistance to civil administration, disaster relief and other contingencies.

This information was given by Defence Minister Shri AK Antony in written reply to Shri MV Mysura Reddy in Rajya Sabha today.

There is no proposal before the government to buy Mirage 2000-5 aircraft.

Indian Air Force is processing a case for procurement of six air to air refuellers from the global market. The Defence Procurement Procedure envisages a timeline of about two and a half years from the date of issue-of RFP to conclusion of contract in such multi-vendor cases.

The delivery schedule is expected to be between 36 to 51 months from the date of signing the contract.
