Indian Navy Search and Rescue.. Why not search for missing Malaysia Airlines

he has a point. Its not exactly that much far. We have a base in Andaman's and it would be literally 2-3 days or less than that travel from there.

What if in "2-3 days" the debris is found? And India made all this grand planning, for nothing?

Nope i am not... When i posted my first msg. This was was not in news.
It is recent development for which i am happy..
I meant because it is clear no why the IN had not stepped in sooner i.e. it was not in their Area or responsibility/concern..

Indeed you were the one to raise this issue ...
and this news came almost 24 hours later you asked the relevant question !

The Indian navy satellite named rukmini (GSAT7) now activated in search for missing Boeing 777 air craft.

It seems today Malaysia have asked India to look into Andaman sea for wreckage. Even if it had crashed into any unhabitated islands of Andaman's numbering 1192 Islands, it is going to be difficult.

Not only that, but the currents can take wreckage parts miles away from the point of crash within a day or two. So by having Indian navy search the area around the strait is not a bad idea.
