Indian navy pumps up eastern muscle

With all three Shivilaik classes, INS arihant, INS Jalaswa and the fleet tankers the Eastern fleet really is getting a HUGE boost in capabilities but what about Western fleet? Why aren't they getting at least one of the advanced Shivlaik class or an LPD? surely given Pakistan's threat this capability is needed by Western Command, is the pendulum swinging back too much the other way now with the Western fleet taking sec on-best to Eastern fleet? It doesn't seem like a fair split of resources.

I think Vishakhapatnam berths LPDs, INS Airavat was commisioned there....I am sure when the new Shavalik Class arrives they will be based on Eastern command as well, may the current Shivalik will then be moved to western command. and mostly they will also have the sub marine base so it is a fair spilt of resource.

The upcoming area of Indian defence is East coast.. Its good that IN has shifted its focus in this area.. We need more muscles along eastern waters..

However, India has denied that its joint exercises are directed at any country. In fact, it has exercised with the Chinese navy too for some years now. Indeed viewing the eastern command's growing importance only in terms of the ?China threat' is a flawed and limited understanding of India's outlook and ambitions.

Standard procedures.. You can not declare a country brave or coward for issuing a politically correct statement.. What ever the intent may be most of the countries most of the time try to stand politically correct.. There is nothing to show bravado about in this whole excercise..
