Indian Navy Plane Catches Fire, Crew Safe

A seven-member crew aboard an Indian Navy Sea King helicopter escaped a fire as the plane was taxiing for take-off in Mangalore, southwest India, on Monday, local media reported.

The Southern Naval Command-based helicopter was en route to Mumbai from Kochi on a routine flying sortie when the incident occurred at around 00:11 a.m., said local daily The Hindu's electronic edition.

The fire was doused immediately and the crew were evacuated to safety.

This has been overhyped. Thar fact the helo landed and all onboard are safe shows this was a very minor fire/fault. These sorts of things happen all the time, the SeaKing (especially UPG IN ones) have pretty advanced automatic fire extinguishers and they can be triggered by the smallest of fires.

Our airforce wants new toys that is why they are destroying the old one:partay:
