Beanibazar, Aug 25 (UNB) - A group of armed Indian nationals, backed by Border Security Force (BSF) attacked Gazukata village in Dubag union in the upazila on Friday night, including the house of a member of Dubag Union Parishad (UP).
However, no casualty was reported till filing this report at 8:30 pm on Saturday.
A flag meeting was held between BSF and BGB at company commander level over the incident at Gazukata-Lafasai `No Man`s Land` in the morning.
Tension prevailed between Bangladesh`s Gazukata villagers and India`s Lafasai villagers over the attack.
UP member Aftab Uddin said a group of BSF and inhabitants of Lafasai village, numbering 100, intruded into Gazukata village at 9:30 pm and attacked some dwelling houses, including that of Aftab and his relatives.
Seeing the intruders Gazukata villagers got panicked and shut the doors of their houses. The attackers hammered the doors with rifle butt and threatened the inmates. At one stage they pelted stone chips at the house of Aftab member and that of his close relatives.
