Indian members help grievance with Jabong

I had a similar experience when I bought air tickets for a colleague recently. But the good news is I got my money back.

It so happened that a guy in my office who had joined 2 months back, needed to attend a funeral in India and he didn't have any credit card to book it online(banks in UAE don't give cards to those who can not produce 3 months bank statement or something to that effect).
I helped him purchase the tickets online. But we never received the tickets.
I got my card blocked on the same day for I suspected fraud.
Few days later my colleague called up their customer care and told them about the incident. Intially they denied the incident. But another day or 2 later, they asked me and my colleague to confirm a few things and after which my money was refunded.
So my suggestion is to contact their customer care once more, and ask for the procedures.
I'm not sure how it works in India, but ideally they will refund your money. They won't like to be dragged to court for sure.

Refund is not a problem here. Infact I just got a call from these folks(though I specifically asked for an email) to initiate a refund. But I've asked for an email and to hold the refund till then.

Respected members, I need advice with an unpleasant experience with online shopping on Jabong. On 7th December I ordered a pair of crocs loafers worth 3244. Status immediately went to in Transit from Gurgaon, I am based out of Pune. Afterwards they kept on delaying for 2-2 days till yesterday. Today I got a call that the product can not be sent, and if I have to buy the same I have to pay the non discounted price which is > 7k. The other option they say is to get the money refunded. Same shoes (crocs Walu accent) are still showing as available on their website at an even more discounted price. I can not understand what's the matter with them. My money is with them for 11 days now, is it a method to earn on interest as there might be other consumers going for the same product? Now I have asked them to send me the same communication by email, I guess they wouldn't send it.
If you have faced something similar and know how to finger(consumer forum?) them, please mention. Not that I was holding my breath for the shoes, but nevertheless consider it a major breach in service. TIA.

1. they promised delivery but did not deliver... below is from their "terms and conditions" page[1] and according to it there should be no reason for non-delivery unless they somehow use point# 4...

you have the right to ask the exact reason for their non-delivery.

and you say that you have seen the order status change to transit... did you see this on the jabong website?? according to the above screenshot, you should have received a email after you have placed your order... did you receive it??

2. they now declare that if you want the shoes they promised at discounted price you must pay them the non-discounted price... this is holding you to ransom !! this is cheating !!

3. the other option they so generously give is of you taking your money back... ridiculous !! you made the effort of ordering on their website and they to earn money took your order and promised delivery... they shouldn't have taken your order if they didn't want your money in the first place !! this would be a breach of promise.

4. the shoes are still listed on the website at discounted price whereas their phone call demands from you the non-discount price... this simply is misleading you and misleading the public... get a screenshot of the website discount price and you have anyway asked them to email you what they said on phone.

5. they holding your money for 11 days without delivery is essentially illegal confiscation of your money.

i agree with @GURU DUTT about you approaching the consumer forum... this may seem troublesome but there is absolutely no reason for jabong to trouble you when in fact you were giving them business.

and i don't think they can earn a large interest off less than 5000 rupees, unless they do with thousands of customers.

I had similar experience with them and contacted at : bhushan@jabong.com. My complaint was taken care of.

well, after you had complained, they should have taken even your single case to be something going against the efficiency and ethics of their business procedures and they should have taken serious steps in correcting the mistake so that no other customer in future has this complaint... your case should have been seen by them as excuse for improvement, but seems they have not improved. :)

khujliwal, if you want you can include this person in the email, bhushan, as part of your complaint with the consumer forum because he has not done his assigned job.

do you have sacnned copy of your order and its electronoick reciept if yes go to consumer forum and file a formal complaint + file a PIL about how the accounts of these online sites work and what they do with money they keep on hold trust me they will come running to your doorstep begging for mercy take help of some advocate/charted accountant for the same

I wont do it and wont suggest it..... .You have no idea how these forum works...... Have been connected to these forum for past 15 years, and i can tell you it is waste of time......

I've used them a few times - they will issue a refund. Re-order at the discounted price.

I wont do it and wont suggest it..... .You have no idea how these forum works...... Have been connected to these forum for past 15 years, and i can tell you it is waste of time......

surely, jabong cannot be allowed to get away with cheating.

maybe the consumer forum in your region is inefficient but may not be the case in poona where the op stays.

but if not consumer forum, what other way do you suggest??

Contact their customer care through mail explain your problem to them in detail and your experience shopping with them.
If that doesn't solve your prob. then you may complain to consumer forum but be sure to have with yourself a copy of their reply.
Their is a reason I prefer to shop with Amazon rather then other online retailers because once I ordered a Shirt on flipkart and the delivery guy came 8.30 in the morning 4 days later without any EDC and since I didn't had much cash with me I had to run to the nearest ATM in the morning.:mad:
After that I ordered my fila shoes from the amazon and the delivery man called me asking me my preferred time for delivery and then he arrived with an EDC with him.:tup:

GURU bhai their used to be member named KRAIT in this forum. He was a very well known poster in the pdf when I used to follow pdf as a guest where is he nowadays?

The easier way would be to get the refund and move on ( I know it is not the ideal one and can be part of "Chaltha hein" attitude) but that is the best possible suggestion if you ask me......

I do not know how fast the forums settle the disputes, but in my area it normally takes 2 years, more than that if it is a critical case...... I have had few funny experience with this forum.......

If you want go for the Consumer Protection Forum and take the scanned photocopies of your invoice, and screenshots of your order and lodge a complaint with them, post the same in the grievance section of your English and local daily newspapers, try contacting Jabong on Twitter,Facebook .They might give you a reply soon as bad publicity is bad business for them.

This is a better idea..... Post on their face book page, or in website, or the consumer protection sites
