THOUGHT PROVOKING AND VERY INTERESTING FROM A HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE.

I was touched by valid points made by the other three Indian gentlemen ( other than M.J. Akbar ).

M. J. Akbar displayed crass commercialism and his ideas were tainted by his desire to sell his books, so he prefers to paint Pakistan is the worst possible light to sell his book to Indians and Westerners ( because that is what they want to hear ).

But I thought the other three gentlemen did not share his condescending demeanor and infact had very positive comments about Pakistan ( to my surprise , I must add ).

All in all, an excellent review by these gentlemen.

M. J. Akbar displays his " Uncle Tom " stripes as usual ( in the true spirit of an Indian NIGG_ _ ).

Indian Muslims always oppose Pakistan because of the fact that they feel marginalized in India , their representation in the parliament is lower than their demographics , their presence in the Indian Military is next to zero , most poor in India are Muslims.

Indian Muslims are living on false hopes that if Pakistan was not created ,we would have been more powerful which is dogmatic. Pakistan or Pakistanis aren't the ones suffering from an "identity crisis" but its Indian Muslims who increasingly are finding it hard to figure their place out in a Hindu dominated society.

There are less than 0.01% Punjabi Muslims in your India while we have 50% Punjabis in Pakistan. And before 1947, my grandfather never called himself an Indian (a European created word), he called himself a Punjabi Muslim. In 1947, he was among the first to raise the Pakistani flag in our village in Punjab and invite the Muslims from Indian Punjab to our village in Pakistan Punjab.

Only the Urdu speaking Mohajir are similar to your Indian Muslims and they make only 7% of Pakistan's population.

As for the subcontinent, the subcontinent was never one. Throughout much of history, the land of Pakistan was different from the majority of today's Inida.
