Indian LCA Tejas Or Pakistani JF-17: Who Is Winning The Malaysian Fighter Jet Contract?

So you telling me an awacs is unable to locate a bogey for the f16 Blk50/52 and the f16 pilot is unable to fire an AMRAAM c7 at the location of the bogey from say 120km away? Just because the radar is 105km detection range doesn't mean the missile is limited to said range.

The AMRAAM is a ARH missile. It has its own radar which gives it the fire and forget capability. Not to mention how the radar itself can guide it upto say 105km then the missiles radar will guide onto the bogey for the next 15km.

That's how it works for the AMRAAM and that's how it works for the pl15.

The AMRAAM first has to be guided by the radar up to a certain distance by the F-16's onboard radar.

First, the target has to be detected and tracked by the F-16. After that, if fired in LOBL (Lock On Before Launch) mode, the target's coordinates are handed over to the missile by the F-16's onboard mission computer. The missile then uses the datalink and onboard INS to guide itself to a predicted position where the target may be based on it's onboard guidance algorithms..finally, only about 10-15 km from the target, it switches it's onboard radar on to find the target.

So for a F-16 to use the full capability of AIM-120C7 or AIM-120D missile, it's onboard radar must be able to track the bogey first. If the bogey is beyond the detection range of the F-16's radar, it cannot be detected and definitely not tracked. So how can it do any of the other steps required to compute the firing solution for the AMRAAM?

On flip side it can be a headache if they have to rely on india for weaponry.. with JF17 its way easier to integrate their own weapons as JF17 has a specific weapon integration department..

For most of them, PDF is first contact with outside world so naturally they are desperate to prove their worth and in process end up splashing their brains....these Indians get Goosebumps even when a solitary aircraft performs so called vertical Charlie on their Republic Day....even then it's hardly visible to naked eye.
As for JF-17 Vs Tejas, here are some basics.....see how JF-17 can go ballistic as soon as wheels are off ground without even retracting it's landing gear....while Tejas, after take off and retracting it's landing gear, has to run the full stretch of the runway before pulling up.....something even the 50 year old Mirages can perform.

I am originally from reddit...I am trying not to debate these Indian nationalists but they are so stupid.

But anyways yea the JF17 is miles ahead of the tejas.

But for the vertical take off, all aircraft do it, be it f22 or tejas. Our jf17 just does it from the get go rather than doing it after it procured some speed. I guess it depends on the pilot and the tricks hes been taught to perform.

I was devastated to see his comments in light of that claim. Although Pakistan is an adversary, I still hold PAF officers in high esteem and I am sure that they are much more mature and calibrated in use of language and thoughts.

Hm? I said I'm from reddit because I pretty much can't help debating your stupidity that you keep on spewing. In this case the lca tejas being better than the lca jf17. I'm not using it as a qualification tf?
