and as I said,It is possibly true that Russia somehow bind China with clause that they might use J-11,but can't sell them.and there is Heaven and Hell difference between J-11 and SU-35.and It is not like Russia is a regular seller of weapons to Pakistan who needs to compete with China.In fact about SU-35,nothing is concrete.We've wasted far too much time speculating over J-10 induction.so,when we'll find something more concrete of SU-35,we'll discuss.

All are aware that India do have the technology but these equipments are bought by keeping regional and International issues in mind. Indian military planners are more aware what they are doing for the security and defense of the nation.

India may purchase the next-generation Russian S-400 Triumf air defense systems, an Indian Defense Ministry source said Sunday.

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — The purchase of 12 S-400 systems was initiated by the Indian Air Forces and would be discussed at the next summit of the Indian Defense Acquisition Council chaired by Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar, the source said, as quoted by Times of India.

"The project is at an initial stage at present. But it will be a government-to-government contract when it is finalized, with the S-400 systems being inducted over several years."

In 2014, the total value of weapons and military hardware delivered by Russia to India reached $4.7 billion, according to Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation estimates.

The S-400 Triumph is an air defense missile system, which integrates a multifunction radar, autonomous detection and targeting systems, anti-aircraft missile systems, launchers, and command and control center. It is capable of firing different three types of missiles capable of destroying aerial targets at short-to-extremely long range.

From Russia India is interested in quick reaction SHORAD for its mobile infantary. There is no need/requirement for any S-400 in India. The only country that needs that is Russia, China, N. Korea, Syria, and Iran.

Basically it was PAF which halted J-10 induction not China. China have pushed J-10 very hard to Pakistan, but PAF went with used F-16s with MLU because they were better at that time, then China went to upgrade J-10s to B/C variants but also SAC launched J-31which PAF realise that they will need 5th gen in future so they ignored J-10 in favour of 5th gen and advance JF-17.

China will not hesitate to sell / provide J-11 or higher because their future strategic interest are at stake in Pakistan.

Hardly the case. A strategic Air Defense/ Ballistic Missile Defense system has been a very old stated requirement of the IAF (almost as old as me). A lot of members here believe that IAF has S-300 BMD systems for defens of Delhi. Well, it turns out, there is a grand total of 1 source, Janes I believe, that explicitly has stated the visual confirmation of the said LR-SAM/BMD, that too in 1996-97,at Hindon AFB and apparently, that was for trials. The outcome was never released to the media. For all we know, there could be no S-300 SAM battery in India, or there could be 6 batteries, the original requirement as per IAF, all dedicated to the defense of the NCR region.

Given the rather long history of demand of such a system, sweeping statements such as yours need to be qualified by atleast a detailed opinion, if not an official suggestion. And SHORAD for the reasons suggested by you, fyi, is a requirement of the IA, not the IAF

The Indian government has placed two missile-tracking radars in New Delhi. It’s the first part of a planned effort to give the city a nuclear missile shield. The shield would be able to intercept incoming missiles fired from as far as 3,100 miles away.

i have posted in china defence section but here it is
this is the third accident of J-10 in flight tests in less than 1 year since last November accident. This time it loaded with missiles. Plus 1 J10S crashed in May with 2 KIA.

A Chinese air force pilot parachuted to safety from low altitude moments before his fighter aircraft crashed into a hillside, state media reported.

He was taking part in a night training exercise when his aircraft suffered an engine failure, but he managed to steer his fighter away from two nearby residential areas before ejecting from the plane, state television reported.

The aircraft had rapidly fallen from an altitude of 3,000 metres to 1,500 metres before the control tower ordered the pilot to bail out.

The plane crashed into a hill and the pilot, Li Tong, was said to be suffering from spinal injuries after his parachute landing.

The report did not say when or where the accident happened.

The pilot ejected from the aircraft about 350 metres above the ground, according to the report.
