Indian Companies to Invest in Auto Sector in Bangladesh

We are talking abt cars not civilian airliner
And BD has imported TATA buses and trucks for decades
Manufacturing in BD will lower costs

What do cars have to do with religion :hitwall:
If you have problem use an Islamic car sticker ;)

Forget about Iran they are under UN sanction
They can't export even if they wanted to

Are you serious? Iran already exports to much more developed markets like Turkey, Russia, Venezuela, Belarus etc.

Automotive industry is an important industry. Bangladesh will be shooting itself in the foot if Bangladesh fails to seize opportunities at the right time.

Do not forget other auto producing countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Morocco and so on.

I have been seeing lots of blah blah blah from the bhartis about their so called top rated car and arguments from the bangladeshis... but the real issue is that Bharti companies are investing in BD because it is a lucrative, competitive and economical place to invest and it is even better then the India or China where labor cost is little bit higher then BD and does not enjoy the benefits that bd usually do. They are not doing it for charity or for the wale fare of BD. Regarding this investment the positive outcome that BD can get is that it will create some jobs. Apart from that whether people of BD will buy this lower graded car or not it is up to them. These bharti car companies also eying duty free access to different region of the world utilizing BD's LDC status. This is as simple as that. Now BD should concentrate on getting more car and other manufacturing companies in BD from different parts of the world and from renowned companies. While doing this we may get investment from these bharti companies which produce lower graded products. But it should not bother us as long as it create jobs. In the mean time bd should concentrate to improve the infrastructure and increase power generation. I believe while doing so many other BD car companies will be formed and Bangladesh in the international arena will be able to establish itself as the world hub of manufacturing just like china...

you are correct.indian automakers are investing in BD not for charity.
but its to fulfill their desire to erect their position in the international market too. they are making progress in it.

India probably can not yet produce a supercar like this Moroccan one. It truly shows where Bangladeshi policymakers' allegiance lies if they pick India over all these reliable countries.

Nice looking 'wheels'.
Bangladesh can certainly import these cars.

And even consider replacing the 'zinzira boys' vehicles.

You are mistaken. Iran still exports a variety of cars to the Middle East and Europe.

They even make Mercedes cars.

Iran: Mercedes-Benz production to start in September

Automakers with factories based in Iran include, Peugeot, Citroen, Volkswagen, Nissan (Japan), Toyota (Japan), Kia Motors (South Korea), Proton (Malaysia), Chery (China) and many other established producers of light and heavy vehicles such as Renault (France), B.M.W, Mercedes Benz (Germany) and Daewoo and Hyundai (South Korea).

It can export weapons as well. But there are some setbacks due to US-sponsored sanctions.

@Everyone here, don't underestimate Iran. It is the oldest country in the world, and even under sanctions, it has fought toe-to-toe with Saddam-era Iraq for eight years while every Western country supported Saddam. Saddam's forces never got close to Tehran.

^ My bad. Thanks for the correction.

Sanctions drove Iranians towards indigenous production
They have tried to become self reliant and they have succeed to some extent

BD should follow suit and build up our own industrial base
instead of waiting for westerners to come to our aid

w0w....I never knew that for an industry like car manufacturing, making profit,or looking for ways to do it is considered as a cardinal sin in some parts of the World.

Regarding quality of products, well I am quite sure that the Bangladeshi authorities have some way of quality control, only beyond which the cars will be allowed to be sold there.Or is it not??

lol..nice cars though...how many of average Bangladeshi can really afford them??

They fall into the category of corolla and lancers, so that wouldn be a problem the
last one though will be a bit Chicky to get a grip on.

They?? I think comparison between cars is done within segments, categories, and not one category with another....So which to segment does a corolla belong to??

Well it varies from a business point of view and the buyers perception.
That car is probably a 16valve 1600cc 4 dr saloon, no clm control(can't see them in the pic) with similar HP of a corolla and lower sized tires so one can certainly compare the two spec wise.

Now it certainly isn't a coupe or Hatchback so the comparison is justified. Corolla falls into the affordable sedan of middle income group and the Irani car shown should also fall into a similar category.

Cars are very expensive in Bangladesh right now.

A Corolla will cost Tk. 2,000,000 ($28,000).

Whereas a fully loaded Land Cruiser would cost Tk. 35,000,000 ($487,000) minimum.

Bangladeshis have spending power, it is just that they have to pay more compared to other countries.
